Very pleasant, safe, comfortable stay.
Pros:

Location is excellent. Bed extremely comfy and a very spacious room which even had a washing machine and dryer and kitchenette, dining table and lounge.

Staff organised a late check out for me and even rearranged bookings to accommodate me. Couldn't speak more highly of the staff and would stay again in a heartbeat.

Very load smoke Alarms went off 6 times during the night due to alarm error,

Cons:

The smoke alarm at a unit next door or on our floor went off very loudly 4 times (for 5 minutes each time) at around 8 PM. Then again twice at 4 AM. Very loaf, for a very long time. I could sleep because of it. There is no number in the room to call reception. All around a disappointing stay.

The location is great - steps away from Queen street mall and easy walk to south bank

Cons:

We have stayed at the Royal Albert many many times over the last 20 years. Sadly the last few times with change or management we have found the standard a lot lower than it once was. We had an extended stay and the room was not serviced for 5 days until we asked for it and were told that cleaning had to be requested in advance and they were short staffed with cleaners. ImThe staff on desk did so their best to accommodate our needs but again I think change of management and cost cutting has made this hotel not what it used to be.

Pros:

The location was fantastic and the staff were very kind

Cons:

They’re not very well resourced, so even when we asked for help and the staff wanted to be able to accommodate us, they couldn’t provide us with what was needed often. Also, the blackout curtains weren’t able to block out the lights outside the window
