I stayed this week in Room 919 at the JW Marriott Indianapolis for a conference Tuesday through Thursday.
My stay was fine, room was in good shape and relatively modern with all the amenities you need. Location was good for where we were and I really didn't need to travel outside the Hotel for anything as everything I needed was within the facility.
It's advertised as a 4 Star Hotel and while it's nice, I didn't get that vibe. But what I did run into was theft and lack of accountability.
I left Thursday morning around 6am to start my Drive back to WNY ( about 500 Miles ). about 1pm I stopped to grab lunch and went into the trunk of my car and realized I had left some clothes ( Sport Coat / Shirt and Pants ) hanging up in the closet.
Completely my fault and I absolutely realize that it's not the Hotels fault for my stupidity, but they do have a lost and found and I contacted the hotel about 1:15pm ( before anyone else would have been allowed to check in to the room ) and spoke with someone who said he would go and check to find them and there were instructions on how to have them sent back to me.
I received a call about 5 minutes later saying nothing was there !!
I didn't have them and know exactly that due to my own fault I had not grabbed them from the closet..which means one of two things.
Either the person cleaning the room kept them or threw them out.
Or they didn't actually go and check the room and just called to say they did as they didn't magically walk out the room by themselves.
Again, I recognize that leaving them in the room was my fault and I would have arranged to retrieve them but this 4 star Hotel service has failed a guest by either stealing / destroying a persons property without permission, or just plain laziness by the employee at their lost and found.
Disappointing and left a bad taste in my mouth for what is supposedly an upscale hotel.
Super close to location and super clean. Staff was excellent.
Amenities, food, service facilities just perfect
Nice location. Friendly staff.
All good.
Great location. Very clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful
A little pricey but still worth it
We love everything about this hotel! My son would’ve liked a pool, but he did like the hotel.
It was a little shocking to find our $279 room turned into $420 overall.
The Executive Lounge is the real star here. As a Platinum Elite member, I’ve seen my share of lounges with protein bars and a lonely apple rolling around—this one actually delivers. Glass jars of candy, legit breakfast options, and nighttime cakes and desserts? Marriott lounges, take notes.
And it’s not one of those ghost-town lounges where you wonder if you need to check the hours. This place is packed and clearly loved.
Bonus points for the huge valet area tucked safely off the road, a great location, and easy convention access. The hotel is always buzzing. The two restaurants are fine, but honestly, the lounge is the main character.
We we’re going to an Indians game and it was walking distance
the view from our room was SPECTACULAR and the convenience to everything was fantastic. Will return to the hotel FOR SURE
I am going to break it down. STAFF- There was staff everywhere ready to assist. I know sweet Hunter helped me several times! And when I needed things for the room, they delivered so fast! FOOD- Starbucks. It has everything you need. lol. Also, I loved the food at the hotel. We diner at High Velocity and had a great experience. We really enjoyed talking to manager Robert about our positive experience. The hotel market has some awesome options. We loved the Nespresso coffee. We kept asking for more coffee and creamer. LOCATION- The hotel is perfectly placed in the city. We walked to a concert at the stadium the first time and Everwise outdoor venue the second visit. There are tons of things to do in walking distance. ROOM- The bed, pillows, and sheets, and sheets were so comfy! We didn't want to leave. The view from the room was awesome! The shower had the best water pressure I've ever had. lol. The room got cold enough even for my perimenopause self. lol. MISC- There were never-ending free water bottles. The market conveniently stayed open until 11 pm. We ordered late, late, late night pizza and ate it on the patio at High Velocity. There was an awesome brunch/all day breakfast place a few blocks away for the late late sleepers called Cafe Patachpou that the hotel recommended. Valet is $80. Just self-park. It's under the hotel and is right there at an elevator to the first floor at the hotel. There were also large trash cans to dump the trash from the car prior to the road trip. I loved that! lol. I can't wait to come back! Thanks again guys!!
The Hotel is very nice and close to the music venue, and love that we didn't have to find a place to eat.
The only reason I didn't give the highest score for comfort is my own personal reasons. The bed was nice but I only sleep well in my own.
We had a wonderful stay here. The staff was friendly. Good location for day trips. Walking distance to the zoo and park. Staff is friendly, housekeeping is adequate. There is a daily destination fee charge however this is well worth it. You’re able to obtain two passes to multiple attractions daily from the front desk, we took advantage of this feature daily as we were planning to visit these locations anyway some of the locations included with the pass are Indianapolis zoo children’s Museum, motor Speedway. In addition the daily fee will also get you a $20 credit for the convenience store, which was nice to grab some snacks or small items from. The M lounge is also very good. It is large clean good offerings snack snacks all day and hosted by friendly staff. Overall, would recommend to stay here especially if I have platinum benefits.
The JW Marriott Indianapolis has been my most disappointing stay as a Marriott Bonvoy member, especially considering how many Marriott properties I have stayed at over the years.
Although I traveled to Indianapolis to attend a conference, I found this hotel to be extremely overpriced for what it offers. One of the biggest disappointments is that the hotel does not have a pool, which is an amenity I typically expect from a property at this price point. The hotel also seems to cater almost exclusively to conferences, so the lobby is consistently overcrowded and extremely busy.
For business travelers, there are very few comfortable or quiet areas to work on a laptop outside of the guest rooms. Additionally, the temperature throughout the hotel is kept uncomfortably cold.
The elevators often require long waits, and the daily parking fee is excessively expensive. While room service was good, the guest rooms themselves are smaller than expected for a JW Marriott.
Unfortunately, my experience with the front desk staff was not particularly welcoming or friendly. On the other hand, the housekeeping staff and the employees who assisted with luggage were courteous, professional, and provided excellent service.
The only aspect that truly stands out in a positive way is the hotel’s location. It is conveniently situated near many of Indianapolis’ main attractions, restaurants, and entertainment venues, making it easy to explore the city on foot.
Overall, this property did not meet the level of comfort, amenities, or hospitality that I have come to expect from the JW Marriott brand, and I do not feel that the experience justified the price.
The hotel is connected by skyway to the other three Marriott hotels in this large block, and they all share the underground parking garage. It's a good place for a conference. It's right across from two museums, so if you want to slip away and do something different for a few hours, you can. A bit of a hike to the downtown restaurants, but that's to be expected. I thought the hotel staff did a good job of facilitating the conference.
Really nice hotel. We had dinner at the restaurant downstairs. A bit expensive but the food was very good. The hotel has nice executive lounge with good breakfast and evening snacks. I would like to thank the personnel at the lounge- Diamond, Meseret and Alex who are hospitable and make the stay there very pleasant. Very nice people.
Joe was very helpful I love The JW Hotel
