First Hotel Backpack

This hostel ist an amazing place! Starting with the equipment, you have there everything you need both in rooms and public areas! Everything is very clean and cozy! But the most exceptional are people working there! I had the great pleasure to meet Oliver from the reception who delivered an excellent service and showed how hostels with quality work both in a professional and cordial way! Also the housekeeping team did a fantastic job and seemed very happy, confirming the fantastic atmosphere in this place!

De locatie

Jeg likte personalet, felleskjøkkenet, dusjen. Doet var lite, men det var ventil der så fort utluftet fra forrige gjest.
Rommet var litt for lite for fem dager, ingen skap, men egen vaskeservant og kjøleskap.
Fint for lavbudsjett, og man kan lage ordentlig maten sin selv.

Mi è piaciuta la vicinanza con il centro di Tromso, la possibilità di andare a piedi al ritrovo delle escursioni , in generale anche la cucina molto dinamica , bagno riscaldato a pavimento , camera anche riscaldata a pavimento ; nel complesso siamo stati molto bene.

Rommet var stort med vaskeservant og speil. Rommet hadde eget kjøleskap. Maten kunne du tilberede i kjøkkenet i fellesområdet i 1. Etg. På kjøkkenet var det stekeovn og godt utdstyrt med fat, kopper, glass og bestikk. Meget bra!

Close to city center, had a decent kitchen to cook our own food, everything was very clean. Hotel staff was very accommodating when we had a last minute request to move rooms. They were very helpful and we really appreciate their ability to make our request a possibility. They also gave us great recommendations for things to do in the city and hikes nearby.

I recently stayed at this hotel and had a generally wonderful experience.
The highlight of my stay was definitely the customer service. The receptionist was incredibly nice and helpful, always greeting me with a smile and going out of their way to answer my questions and make me feel welcome.
The room itself was clean and comfortable. However, the only downside was the window curtains. Even when fully closed, they still let a lot of light through. If you are a light sleeper or prefer a completely dark room to sleep in, this might be a bit bothership.

The hotel is well located, about a 5–10 minute walk from the city centre, depending on where you want to go. Tromsø is a very compact city, so most places are within walking distance.
The highlight of our stay was the front desk receptionist, Olivier. He is a super friendy person, he loves people and he enjoyes chatting and sharing recommendations about the city attractions. He is also very approachable and always happy to help.

The room was clean and had a double bed, just as we requested.

There is also a shared kitchen, dining room and a cosy living room. Coffee, tea and cookies are also avaible for travellers for free in that room.

We came there for the Midnight Sun Marathon and the place was full of runners, so it was great chatting with them over meals or while relaxing on the sofa.
