Hotel staff attitude is bad

The stay is fine. The staff is not as helpful as expected, e.g. seldom able to answer questions effectively and correctly. There is one exception though, whose name is Ethan Chen. Ethan is very professional and friendly. Once hearing my complaint about iPhone charging in my room, he immediately act to quickly resolve the issue. Definitely a special thank to him.

Great location and wonderful staff!

The apartment is excellently located and has easy access to everything you need shopping-wise. However, the property, other than its facade, is really dated. The hallway has a smell and the furniture is really worn. The facilities are in working condition but nothing close to the value of what you have paid for. I chose it because it’s a serviced apartment and the cleaning staff go out of their way to keep it clean, but all the amenities are just so in need an upgrade that there’s not much additional cleaning can do.

Broken parts and unclearn areas with no response upon request.

The property advertises having air conditioning but only had heating on in the room, despite the temperature being in the mid 30s. Staff were rude and unhelpful

We stayed at Ascott Huai Hai Road for 5 nights and it was 1 of the best so far, for the amount that we paid for. Service has been top notch from the moment we stepped in.
We had to change rooms once as the room below us had a burst pipe, we appreciate that they personally informed us of the issue, and managed to find us a similar room 2 floors down almost immediately.

We had left behind my daughter's camera upon checkout and only realised it late that night. When I messaged the hotel via this app, I got an immediate reply from Ethan Chen. I still preferred to talk over the phone and managed to get through, afterwhich he offered to send the lost and found item via package delivery to our new hotel within a day. I offered to pay for the delivery service, but they waived it and said it was their job. Really touched by their actions and it is not something that we take for granted. We will reocmmend this hotel to friends and family who visit Shanghai in future!!

Property is not well maintained and dirty. Very dated, different from pictures on hotels.com. Breakfast is bland. Only good thing is the location. For this price, can go somewhere else much better.

Front desk is very responsive. River is extremely knowledgeable and helpful. The housekeeper Ms. Ling did excellent job. Highly recommended.

The hotel room is spacious and comfortable. The hotel location is very convenient. There are many shops and restaurants nearby. A subway station is across the street from the hotel. The hotel staff is friendly.

We love to stay here and want to make it our designated stay next time in Shanghai. Breakfast is just okay, services aren’t great as the front desk lady treats us suspiciously, after swapped our key and had us signed, a few minutes later she followed us to the table, interrupted our breakfast to ask us show who we are again. Other than that, overall experience is very nice. Clean, spacious, excellent etc.

The hotel is centrally located with subway very nearby. Many restaurant choices and shopping
