The suite was lovely, the restaurant was excellent for both food and attentive service and the breakfast selection and service was first class!
Amazing, tranquil location. Gorgeously decorated. Friendly staff. Amazing room. And the food … say no more … outstanding!!
Our stay was too short!!
Breakfast, USB points, cleanliness and friendly staff
No windows to look out of or open felt claustrophobic. Bed and pillows very uncomfortable. Shower screen seal not working so flooded bathroom floor. Loose basin tap.
Outside bar service
More flexibility re the dinner menu
The staff were incredible. All staff, including the cleaning staff we accidentally interrupted cleaning our room, were so friendly and accommodating. The bed was probably the best night sleep either me or my husband have every had. It was so comfortable. I adored the little seating area outside, it was so peaceful and lovely to sit out in the evening after what can only be described as heavenly food. The daily cookies in the room were a really lovely touch. The breakfasts were divine, particularly the home made butter! My and my husband would like to give a special mention to the person who served us on the first night, Ben. There was a comedic moment were our confusion, confused him but he very quickly adapted to us (who had never been in such a swanky place) and made us feel so welcome despite being out of our depth. The classical music on the radio as we entered the room was a really lovely touch.
The second night I ordered a lamb meal and my husband decided to try the soda bread which we didn't enjoy however that was more personal preference than anything as the food itself was a very high standard.
The bathrobes that were supplied were suitable for a small size. But we appreciated that they were supplied and they were very decent quality.
We cannot find anything that was sub par.
Beautiful location for visiting Shibden Hall and Piece hall and Halifax Minster. Love the history of the building and the quirky corners and original beams. The small touches make all the difference with silver spoons and home made cookies in your room. A large comfy chair and reading corner in the room. Radio with classical music playing and welcoming and warm staff. They have a lovely bar and lounge to relax it really is the perfect place to unwind.
Nothing
Perfect small hotel with great amenities, service and restaurant. If you’re visiting Haworth for the Brontë experience it’s only 10 miles away, took about 25 mins driving mostly through lovely countryside.
We were a little hot at night despite turning the heating down.. a separate sheet from the duvet would have been great to help us cool off!
It adds quality/ detail - so that you have everything you need. Loved the spacious informal lounge areas in the bar/residents space. Cute lamps on tables in bar/breakfast. Bathrobes in bedrooms, home made cookies, tea pot, tap water refilled daily with proper glasses, old radio playing classical music as entered room and window that opened. Staff attentive. Loved the link to its heritage through a series of walks from the door. Spotless & well maintained for a large old property. Breakfast exceptional with home made muesli. It doesn’t just give you the cake - but adds the cherry on the top!
It can be unfordable for some, but does have smaller rooms that are more within budget. Food / drinks pricy but best quality.
Comfortable room, very pleasant staff, good food
I have no complaints
Just amazing , beautiful
What a find - what a delightful historic gem, minutes from halifax centre. Super comfortable, lovely room full of character (with a really kind upgrade - thank you). Excellent shower and bathroom! Excellent wee bar, really really friendly staff and an exceptionally tasty breakfast with a fantastic variety of local produce. Next time we will make sure we arrive in time for dinner - the food looks amazing. Thank you Shibden Mill Inn - a lovely stay!
Nothing - everything was fantastic.
