Hotel Kristal Palace - Tonelli Hotels - Adult Friendly

We stayed at this hotel in the July 3 years ago and fell in love with it and wanted to come back. We stayed from 20th Sept to the 1st Oct which we now realise was a mistake. We had an early flight out so we were at the poolside by midday and it was everything we remembered and were looking forward to our 11 days in paradise. The next morning we had breakfast at the poolside and couldn’t be happier but unfortunately that all changed. We went out for the day and when we came back all the tables had been cleared and the umbrellas had been put away. The bar had been completely emptied and the QR codes on the table had gone so you couldn’t have a drink or eat around the pool. We went to the area where the towels for the pool and sunbeds were stored and it was empty. We went down to reception and after a long wait we were begrudgingly given two towels which we had to use for the next 9 days as we didn’t feel confident they would be replaced. It was quite embarrassing that guests were asking us where the towels were kept and we had to tell them to try their luck downstairs, is this normal procedure on holiday ? Had we been told that our stay would be on a reduced service we could have booked an earlier date but we were totally unaware.

Cannot recommend this hotel highly enough.Lovely ambience,rooms and environment. Rooftop breakfast was an experience in itself.Staff were outstanding throughout the hotel.Particularly Zane and Masimo who were perfect professionals and lovely people.Only small criticism would be the lack of beef and chicken on the menu but this is only a minor preferrence of mine.If you're thinking of booking this hotel do it now.

What a fabulous hotel. Good location, short walk into the old town and close to the lake. Hotel is lovely, the food is really nice, plenty of choice at breakfast to set you up for the day. But what makes this hotel stand out, like most of the other reviews say, are From the bar staff at the pool area to the restaurant waiters nothing is too much much for them. Reception staff are the same. Will definitely be going back.

Beautiful location in fact stunning. The views from the top of the hotel were stunning. View across the lake surrounded by mountains.
The hotel was small and friendly. The rooms are a generous size with everything you need.
All of the staff are so friendly, courteous and deliver first class service. I would personally like to thank them for the excellent hospitality.

Un Excelente Hotel en un Increíble Lugar y Ubicacion

Set slightly outside the town approximately a 30 minute stroll to the centre and ferry terminal but close to the Northern side of the lake.

This was probably our 4th visit on a half board basis and this time we had a Superior room.

The room was good with excellent bathroom facilities including a large walk in shower.

One minor negative is there is a lack of storage/drawer space with quite a bit of shelving high up above the wardrobe and not easy to access without a chair to stand on. Bedside tables had no storage in them.

That said the hotel is beautifully designed and fitted out to a high standard matched by a very high standard of service from all.

Jewel in the crown is the Sky Bar which has entertainment at night (excellent) and sometimes a guitarist in the morning where breakfast is served (also excellent). During the day there are comfortable areas to sunbathe relax and enjoy and the pool is warm and relaxing.

We were a little disappointed with the choices for our evening meals where we thought the menu was a little fussy. Breakfasts around the sky bar are excellent. Great choices including an egg and crepe station for freshly cooked meals.

Despite some of the negative comment it’s definitely a top hotel

This was our second visit to the Hotel Kristal Palace and it was just as fantastic as the first time. All the staff are very professional, well presented, friendly and welcoming. We stayed in a panorama room which was spacious, modern and had great amenities. along with daily housekeeping. The food is exceptional and drink are reasonably priced. About a 10 minute stroll from the centre but also has lots of bars and shops in the immediate vicinity including a supermarket. We were there to celebrate my daughter’s 30th birthday so I arranged with the hotel to have a cake made for her on our arrival. It was delivered to her room with some complimentary delights too! She was blown away by the extra little touches. The roof top has amazing views of the lake and mountains. We thoroughly enjoyed having breakfast served there. The evening entertainment was brilliant. Thank you for giving us an amazing experience, you should be proud of yourselves! We cannot wait to return once again. Riva has such a relaxing vibe with plenty of bars, shops and restaurants to choose from!

Spent a wonderful week at the Krystal Palace Hotel, a fabulous holiday location in spectacular surroundings, within easy reach of the centre of Riva del Garda. All of the hotel staff were exceptional and the rooftop pool and bar a real highlight with musical entertainment every evening. We particularly enjoyed the al fresco breakfast and of course the cocktails happy hour. The room we were initially assigned wasn’t ideal for us but we were offered an alternative almost immediately which was perfect. The food options were excellent too and the service couldn’t be faulted. Will definitely be back soon.

Wow !! What can I say , this hotel is Magnificent.

Food - A la Carte every evening , service and food both exceptional , it is like going to an expensive restaurant every evening , with your own allocated table for your stay.

Pool / Bar Terrace - absolutely beautiful, with the most magnificent view over the lake. Breakfast is served here , again this is brilliant in every aspect , on the Sunday morning we had breakfast by the pool and there was a guy playing soothing guitar music.

Location is excellent, just round the Corner there are shops & Restaurants, you can then cut through to the lake and walk to the harbour / old town which is also lovely.

Free City bikes also available from hotel.

Can’t fault the place.

Lovely hotel with the most amazing staff. Great food, beautifully presented. Gorgeous rooftop pool with fantastic views and a bar area for evening entertainment. The room felt newly refurbed, good shower and large balcony. Lots of little things that make a difference including robe and slippers, wine and cake on my birthday, departure gift, Can't fault it. Thanks to all the lovely staff who made our stay exceptional.

We spent 4 nights at Hotel Kristal Palace. It’s a lovely hotel in a great location. The food was excellent but it was the friendly service that made a real impact on us. The hotel is conveniently located for swimming and water sports and there are ferries, buses and bikes for going further afield. I would highly recommend Hotel Kristal Palace and Riva del Garda.

The restaurant team were particularly fabulous, being both attentive yet unobtrusive, offering a varied menu, with a wide choice.
Breakfast on the rooftop terrace with live background music overlooking the stunning beauty of the lake was amazing and a great way to start the day!
The only ‘tip’ to the hotel management would be to have the ground floor lounge bar open on an evening as well as the rooftop terrace to give a choice of a quiet drink if guests didn’t want to listen to the live entertainment upstairs.
Will definitely return again and would highly recommend this hotel.

Amazing! We literally loved it so much. Everyone working at the hotel was so lovely and accommodating. Best hotel experience ever. Would recommend in a heartbeat!

My husband and I stayed for a week in July 2025 and would definitely stay again. The hotel couldn’t be faulted and the rooftop terrace with swimming pool has a stunning view. The staff were first class, nothing was too much bother and everyone made us feel very welcome. The half board meal every evening was cuisine ant its finest and the waiting staff were so attentive. The breakfast, served on the rooftop had a wonderful variety to choose from as well.

Fabulous service from all staff at all times of day .. couple of names to mention Zane and Masssimo

The food is the very best I have tasted so hats off to the chef and his kitchen staff.

A small point there were discrepancies on our final bill for drinks we hadn’t ordered to their credit reception adjusted straightaway once I had queried!

Did not detract from a fabulous week ( 9th -16th Aug 25)

Beautiful place - staff & owner were amazing. The area is so nice and the hotel is in a great location for day trips, restaurants, lake and shopping. We will definitely be back.

Excellent hotel staffed by excellent people. Spent a week here and loved every minute. Within walking distance of the lake and only 15 minute walk to the old town centre. Room was big and airy and a huge balcony by hotel standards. The food here is exceptional but don't expect burgers and chips ; it's all genuine Italian cuisine celebrating local and national produce. The whole experience is great due to the friendly and courteous staff. We will be back.

This is our 6th visit to the Kristal Palace Hotel, we would never stay anywhere else it is outstanding! One of the main highlights is definitely the most friendly staff - particularly Juri and Zane who looked after us so well every day during breakfast and Eleonora on reception who always makes us feel at home! Rooms are bright and airy, the rooftop is spectacular and all just minutes to the lake. Love it here, we will be back soon! From Rach and Mikey

While this review is 3 stars, I will explain why, but I want to say the service we received from the staff was 5-star. They were attentive, kind and very helpful. My review is reflective of the price charged to the actual quality of the room and public areas. We spent 4 days at this hotel in July of 2025. First, Riva Del Garda is a hidden gem on the edge of the Brenta Dolomites and at the top of Lake Garda. The city itself was very nice, clean and beautiful waterfront. When we arrived at the hotel, we drove over from Venice and reserved a spot in the parking garage under the hotel. Check-in was easy, and the front of the hotel was nice, clean, and the reception was smooth. The bags accompanied us to our room. As we entered the elevator, I noticed the floor had debris on it, but nothing to complain about, but it could have used a vacuuming. We were on the 5th floor. When we stepped into the hall, I was surprised at the state of the carpet, it was stained and needed replacing or at least a deep clean. When we got to the room, I was first surprised at how small the room was (We just left the JW Marriott in Venice), but knew it would be smaller than what I had just come from. I also noticed that the room looked tired. There was a leather wall covering behind the mounted TV, and it was heavily nicked to the point I almost said something. The room was, however,r very clean and smelled fresh. My wife and I both said we were disappointed in the state of the room. There were 2 very cheap plastic chairs around the table in the room. We checked the bathroom, and it was actually in better shape than the room, so we were pleasantly surprised. We slept fine, and the a/c cooled us as expected, as it was hot when we arrived. The breakfast was ok, but the pastries were not freshly made and had been purchased at the local supermarket. My rating reflects the premium price we paid for an average room and breakfast. I again repeat that the level of service of the staff was fantastic, but I can't give this resort a 5-star rating when it needs an upgrade in the rooms and common areas. We didn't eat in the restaurant, but noticed it was Michelin-starred. I would have hoped that a hotel with that level of restaurant would have the same mindset on its common areas and rooms.

We had a lovely week, the hotel room had everything we needed, great facilities and great views from our balcony.
The staff were outstanding, from the waiting staff in the restaurant to the people on reception.
They were all friendly, courteous and helpful.
The food was outstanding, was nice to try food we haven't tasted before.
The location was ideal for visiting our chosen days out, short walk to town for ferries and nearby bus route.
