Last minute booking (We walked in) should have stayed further north but the hotel and resort was flooded. Lovely lady on reception showed us 2 rooms a superior and a premium. Premium is best!!🤔 sounds like others have been confused also. Also came with breakfast and daily spa. Bathroom is good but possibly time for a more modern look this is my only negative. As others have said should be higher than 2 stars. As for the lady who gave 1 out of 5 for no family rooms it's adults only!😂
I walked in off the street and the receptionist was very friendly and helpful. T%he room was well equipped, clean and comfortable. I didn't use the pool but it was nice to hear it from my room at night - it was very peaceful. Breakfast was a bit sparse, but it was good. There is parking on-site. I would stay again.
Stayed for a week, last very little hotel well situated
Rooms are good size and cleaned daily
Lovely pool and spa is fabulous and must be visited
Breakfast is good only complaint it would be nice to have a full cup of coffee,we only got half a cup.
We have stayed 3 days and had nice time.
Hotel personnel was very friendly and helpfull, hotel is nice, breakfast was delicious.
Only thing that we didn't like is noise cause doors produce very loud noise while opening and closing. Doors of rooms are very close to each other so when someones enters their room, we have heard it every time. The same thing is is with bathrooms while using water.
Other very good and clean.
We were very pleased With Our stay here.
The location is great, and I recommend this small town for a Place outside the tourist zone of the Spanish coast!
The room was a bit old-style, but had a balcony, and was clean.
There was a beautiful pool area.
Everything was in walking distance, Beach, restaurants and shops.
The breakfast was great, and probably the best on Our one month trip trough Spain!
Staff was friendly and some spoke good English.
When we arrived we were greeted by a very lovely receptionist who could not have been more helpful and even took us to our room, that is a first. There is a room for making tea and coffee free of charge, another first. The room was not over large but perfectly adequate, the bed was comfortable. There was a fridge in the room, so useful and totally silent. The position of the hotel is great very central to everything and easy little walk to the seafront. The standard of cleanliness could not be faulted.
The sound proofing in the room was good. We enjoyed it so much we stayed an extra night.
We found this hotel welcoming and well presented. The offer of complimentary tea and coffee by day was appreciated. We were a bit disappointed in December that our room saw no sun being one of the smaller rooms at the rear (marketed falsely in my view by Booking Com as "superior" - there certainly are superior rooms - facing seaward - bigger and with large sunny balconies - but the room we were allocated as Booking Com clients was definitely not as superior. So I would definitely book direct on any future occasion. We did not realize this anomaly in time to ask for an change. The undoubted weakness of this hotel is breakfast, served without enthusiasm in a cold basement. Everything seems on ration and there are even signs up telling you not to remove any food or drink - there would be precious little to remove. It seems strange to be so parsimonious with this when offering free hot drinks upstairs. the offer of a boiled egg would not seriously challenge their profit margins and certainly would not over-exert the breakfast member of staff.
We had been in San jose, Cabo de gata since 2009 and we stayed in different kind of hotel or apartment in town to experience the quality and service.
We always read what the people experienced thru tripadvisor and we totally agree the La Posada de Paco hotel had the best bed, pillows, spa and private parking. Breakfast which was included in the room rate need to improve the quality of selection.
The personal was very helpful but we should learn more spanish so we can communicate much better.
Carolina y Vanessa apartment/hotel had the best family atmosphere service and the apartment/hotel was perfectly good enough.
Best view and lounge was Dona Pakyta, we could watch the sunrise perfectly from our room balcony and our room was tidy perfectly everyday.
Dona Pakyta has also direct access to tha playa/beach, perfect for morning swim.
Best breakfast, pool lounge we had experienced was in MC San Jose botique hotel and the personal can speak english.
San jose Santuario had the best breakfast garden when the weather allowed and helpful staff.
Hotel Don Ignacio had a best beach location.
This is a 2 star hotel with 3/4 star qualities! Rooms vary but this small hotel is modern, clean, friendly & very central. It has great facilities, spa, swimming pool & free parking. All rooms have balconies, they are spacious & they all have air con & fridges. My room wasn't as well appointed as my friends' but was still comfortable & spotless.
The hotel is at the top of the main street & is opposite a small supermarket & bakery. It is a short walk past cafes, restaurants & shops to the beach & marina.
A great place from which to explore the Cabo de Gata, Nijar & Almeria.
Nice and modern room, nice balcony (ours was with road view and nice view towards the city), outside pool, wellness with pool and optional massage. Nice staff in the nice village of San José with its beautiful western style environment and lovely beaches.
This hotel was ideally situated a short stroll from the beach, the little port and many restaurants. It is a new smart little place with on-site parking and a small pool, and is easily found on the right as you enter San Jose on the main road. Our room was bright and clean, fully equipped, quiet and comfortable.
The hotel promotes 'spa' treatments, but we did not try these out.
Breakfast was good, with plenty of options, fruit, and good coffee. You take breakfast in a light, spacious lower floor room; maybe it was the acoustic of the room, or the absence of background music, but while we were at the hotel this room was very quiet.
Overall we thought that this was a good value option for a few days in San Jose, and a great centre for exploring the Almeria pensular.
We spent three nights at Hotel La Posado de Paco in San Jose, which was an excellent base from which to explore the Cabo de Gato's rugged coastline and remote beaches. It's a nice little hotel, a little way from the hustle and bustle of the harbour. If you want a sea view from your balcony look elsewhere but if you want somewhere quiet and relaxed this is the place for you. There's a no children policy but that was just fine with us. We particularly enjoyed the spa, which was included in our €115 room rate. But if you don't want to use it there are cheaper rooms available without access to it at around €80. An excellent choice.
Really enjoyed our stay in San Jose, great place full of character. Hotel very clean and modern, simple decor. Rooms attractive and well equipped for the money. We visited in mid May and got to use the Spa facilities included, the Spa was small but lovely , really enjoyed it.The Pool is small but clean and modern, I suppose it may be too small if the hotel was full in peak times. Breakfast was simple but good, it included Cereal, Toast, Pastries, fruit, yogurt, cold meats and cheese. Freshly squeezed orange juice was lovely. The location was very good , close to bars and restaurants. The staff were pleasant and professional. We would definitely stay here again.
We spent 2 nights in this 2 star hotel. We had a 1st floor room which was a reasonable size as was the bathroom. The small balcony looked over a side street so it was very quiet. With the room we had we had use of the spa faciities which were excellent. Breakfast was more that adequeate. The staff were very hepful and we wil certainly return again soon. It is a short walk to the beach with its many fish resturants which were not over priced. It also has a free private car park which is secured at night.
I was very impressed with this hotel. The location is perfect for getting to the beach, taking the bus to the Calas, going for a run in the mountain. The rooms in the hotel are very comfortable, each one has a terrace and a television with a USB input. The spa is very nice, very modern.
The staff are also great, I left an item in the hotel by accident and they posted it to me which was a bit of a life-saver.
Thumbs up!
Good hotel with convenient location.
Nice big room, with a balcony to the road on the front and an OK bathroom with bath.
Fridge in room a bonus. Free wi-fi weak and kept dropping out.
It's been revamped / repainted quite recently but is an old building.
No hotel lobby or communal space. Bit like a car park. Swimming pool very thin, not much use really, though outside seating is useful when the sun moves off the front balconies.
Breakfast is a buffet and very nice with some quality ingredients and, thankfully, a few types of brown bread. Dining area in the basement quite bland.
Staff friendly enough without being charming.
Location is opposite a supermarket and strip of restaurants. Mixed blessing this as you get traffic for the supermarket, buskers etc, though it's not like Morrisons on a Saturday morning.
