A beautiful hotel and a wonderful evening
Spacious and comfortable room in a central location. Reception and room service staff were friendly and helpful.
Room faced the side of the hotel where delivery lorries unload from early morning. The noise from deliveries starting at dawn made it very difficult to sleep. The air conditioning in the room also did not work properly. Adjusting the temperature made no difference. Additionally, the spa charge of £45 per person for hotel guests felt quite high.
Had a 2 night stay and everything was first class from walking through the door, very helpful reception staff and a top quality room. You felt like you were an important guest and nothing was too much trouble. The only negative was breakfast being £30. I’m sure that the quality would be up there but it seemed excessive so we didn’t bother and ate at the cosy club instead. If it had been priced more reasonably ( say £20) we would have stayed for breakfast in the hotel. Definitely stay again as it’s the best in York

A short walk from the train station, lovely view, close to the Minster. The best place to stay if you visit York!
Absolutely fantastic hotel. Highly recommend. The staff were amazing and the breakfast was great. Clean, spacious room, lovely attention to detail. Extremely quiet and the heating controls actually work which was a novelty as generally in other hotels, they do not!

Pool/spa requires a charge on top for guests which is disappointing. And not cheap!
Breakfast - the space is great. But the quality is definitely lacking. Ie we ordered fried eggs which were not good. Hot breakfast was just ok.

Clean and comfortable in a great location
Our room was clean and spacious, well equipped and a very comfortable bed and pillows. It was exactly what we needed for a relaxing couple of days away after a very difficult couple of weeks.
The staff at reception were very warm and welcoming and made us feel very special.
We had drinks in the bar on our first evening which was a lovely relaxing time and the breakfast was exceptional with a great range of foods available.
Our room was a little noisy on the first night with furniture (it sounded like) being moved above us and we heard the lorries unloading early in the morning as we were at he end of the hotel.
Love this hotel, our favourite to stay in York, just luxury
