Amazingly beautiful hotel! The building itself is just stunning, and rooms were very well maintained and very comfortable. The location in the city is super easy to walk to many sightseeing spots. Breakfast was adequate but not the greatest for the cost and compared to others, but overall ok.
I was only in town for a quick night so my only main complaint would be that I didn’t have enough time to enjoy this great hotel!

1) The hotel itself is stunning - elegant, well maintained, and feels genuinely luxurious
2) Breakfast was excellent - great variety and plenty of options for everyone
3) Location is hard to beat - right next to the train station and very convenient for exploring the city on foot
4) Special mention to the porter - incredibly friendly and helpful, made a great impression
1) This time we were given rooms on a lower floor where the windows were locked, so no option to get fresh air. On a previous stay we were on a higher floor and the experience (especially the views) was much better
2) The spa access was disappointing - it's not included in the price and requires additional fees (not insignificant), which was a surprise. Even more frustrating was the restriction for children under 16: access is limited to a short 2-hour window per day, needs to be booked in advance, and was already fully booked for the time of our stay when we arrived. Would be good to know these details in advance.
This was an overnight stay to see the sights of York and celebrate our 31st wedding Anniversary. Location was perfect we arrived by train so not far to walk and only a short walk to main attractions. The service from all staff was second to none. The room was spotless and the food for Evening meal and breakfast was exceptional Definitely recommend
The location of the hotel is perfect, five minute walk from the station and 10 minutes into the city centre.
On arrival greeted by all staff and assistance given with suitcases into the foyer. Check-in was quick and again assistance given with suitcases to the room. Room was spacious (double) with plenty of storage and facilities to make hot drinks - tea and coffee. Spacious fridge which was topped up with bottled water.
The hotel was clean and had a lovely smell in the foyer.
Breakfast had several choices form both cold and hot buffets with an A la carte menu. We ate in the bar one evening and although the choice was limited, the food and drinks were good.
Lovely staff very friendly ( almost too much at times) helpful and very chatty. Nice reception bar and restaurants. Hotel is devoid of artwork which really impacts as you go up the stairs. Rooms are spacious but tired. Need new furniture and redecorating. Gym is tiny. One treadmill etc. like a large home gym. Spa is nice but residents pay to use the pool and it’s super crowded. Hotel overall is more 4 star than 5 star. A great location. Valet parking well worth booking. Would stay again.

They maintain very high standards, the room was immaculate, the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was exceptional, each of the 4 days we had something different (Full English, French Toast, Honey Waffle and Eggs Royale) each one was perfect. The 1906 bar has a good selection of drinks and is a very cosy place to be.
I was celebrating my birthday and they gifted some very nice chocolates with a lovely card and badge. I would like to thank everyone for making it such lovely experience.
Can't really think anything, any complaints would really be nitpicking.
