Doesn’t live up to the HI-E standards in many areas
Pros:

My first disappointment with a Holiday Inn express.

Hotel is right next to train tracks

At least a 30 minute wait to check in , they could have used some help for the only staff member on duty . She was very polite and helpful

Weather in the mid 80 degrees. AC did not work , had no other rooms to switch to . Old wall mount type that was converted to a wall thermostat , which is fine if it works . Very warm night and room was stuffy .

No fan in bathroom

Found dirty pair of socks on floor

Internet had no security and was pretty slow

Room phone not working

We always stay at holiday inn express. But for $200 for one night and the terrible experience at this one … I think I will be switching

I’ve definitely experienced better Holiday Inn Epress’ but it was better than a Motel 6
Pros:

I liked that it was right next to a 24 hour gas station, as well as being tucked off of the road. The amenities were easily accessible, we did have a room next to the door to outside. We did like being able to come and go as we please and not have to walk through the lobby.

Cons:

when we first check in, the young African-American girl, who seemed aloof and disinterested both days, had said to the other young lady 20 people had checked out at 12 o’clock. I understand people check out late, maybe even in mass. From what I experienced, however, it’s not much of a process to check out. There’s just a box where you drop your key and that’s it. It seemed almost all high touch areas such as the soaps and lotions were obviously not wiped down, I do bring wet wipes for this very scenario however. I would provide pictures of that, but I needed to use the restroom/wash my hands, and I don’t specifically go out of my way to make sure that I’m taking pictures of negligence to report to management, hence the wet wipes. There are some things that I can live with, such as a cleaner who has to clean a ton of rooms missing something. But after I saw the cobwebs, I did question not only if this room had been cleaned, but when, a few weeks ago? There was no fan/vent able to be turned on in the bathroom. Respectfully, nobody wants to smell each other after the bathroom and you don’t provide air freshener. Not to mention, the only light you can turn on in the bathroom, also triggers the massively bright mirror light. It genuinely felt like I was being flashbanged. For $180 a night I feel I could’ve gotten a better room elsewhere for sure, I would drive further.

Wonderful
Pros:

Wonderful stay. I was actually very surprised. Very clean. The bed and pillows better than when we stay at a resort. The staff every shift was so kind and accommodating. We will make this our new spot when we visit NC.

My stay was great! Nice Hotel.
Pros:

The bed was very comfortable, I wish I could have brought it back home. The breakfast was good as well. The facility was very neat and clean. I will definitely stay again.

Good for groups
Pros:

This hotel was used for a group event and the staff were amazing to work with when it came to booking for a group. The guests who stayed all spoke positively of the staff working, the rooms and even breakfast. The only reason this is not a 5 is because there is a train close by.

Comfort, Convenience, and Great Service Right Off I-40
Pros:

This newly renovated property is extremely comfortable, clean, and conveniently located right off I-40, making it very easy to access. The rooms are spotless, well maintained, and so comfortable—I truly slept like a baby. The room rate was a great value for the quality and amenities offered.

The breakfast is good, and the breakfast area has a warm and welcoming atmosphere, making it a perfect place to relax after a full day and connect with other guests. The fitness center is excellent and provides great value, and the overall location is ideal.

A special shoutout to Samantha Myszelow, VP of Sales & Marketing, who is phenomenal to work with. She is highly responsive, incredibly accommodating, and quick to assist with anything that comes up. Her professionalism truly sets this property apart. Highly recommend.

Pros:

The staff was very helpful and kind. All staff were awesome. We have stayed at this place before it was changed. The change was very nice.

Cons:

The room we were in was not so clean. The area under and behind the pull out couch/ bed had food particles/ trash on the floor that was never cleaned. The area behind the bed frame was also not clean. It also had trash/ food particles on the floor.

Excellent Stay with Great Amenities and Service
Pros:

This newly renovated property is exceptionally well managed by a team that truly takes pride in caring for both the hotel and its guests. We loved the breakfast selection - especially the cinnamon rolls. The spacious fitness center was a great bonus, with all the equipment you could need. Its convenient location near the Lenovo Center made it an excellent value for us. We will definitely be returning.
