Our plans had changed. We called ahead and asked to push our arrival date back one day. They refused it was purchased with point. They basically told us to check in the day before and then call the front desk and let them know that we had checked in and would not allow us to cancel the first night. She said they were over sold by 7 so she would prefer to give me terrible service and not have a room for someone else that was coming that night. Terrible policy I have made these kinds of changes reservations at many Hilton hotels for the years. I am a diamond member as well. To add insult in injury the person I talk to who was trying to be helpful ended up canceling our last night without my permission after I hung up with her. It was a free 5th night so they could resell it. Then once I called her, she reinstated the night I was sent to Bill for over $200. This was just the beginning, upon arrival we noticed how dirty and worn the room was. Our drawers were broken and had a dried white slime on the front of them will attach pictures. It was gross Overall the room was not very clean. You could see scum along the baseboards in the bathroom, the shampoo dispensers were broken on the floor in the tub and more. I would say the bed was comfortable. We were here for a baseball tournament like many other others. They did not serve food appropriate to kids in the breakfast area. After all, this is a suite hotel designed for families and hosting baseball tournaments.
The first day they had chicken sausage that just frankly, my son looked disgusting. No bacon, no waffle iron and very few bread products. When we were there, there was no yogurt and only apples and oranges for fruit. The eggs were quite slimy and not very good but this seems to be almost everywhere these days. On the next day, everything was pretty much the same except for instead of the Gross looking chicken sausage we had non-meat chorizo. I think of Homewood suites as a family hotel. Why would you be serving this when kids are there at baseball tournaments? And not offering another option. On the last day we were there. There was bacon when I opened the tray. There were four pieces. I let my son have it. There was one bagel, one piece of white bread and no muffins and still no fruit. As I was toasting that one bagel for my son I heard one of the workers say to the other that we went through a lot of bacon that day. And then who I think the manager was said, do not ever put bacon out again on the weekends. This will tell you a little bit about how this hotel feels about having things to please their clientele. Terrible experience, terrible management, terrible policies, dirty, and worn room, and inappropriate breakfast. All this hotel is interested in taking your money and at weekend rates of $450 a night stay elsewhere.
Location was great. Breakfast was good but the food wasn't stocked. We had to wait for new food to be put out. But there were only 2 workers and a lot of guests. My husband was put off by loud rap music blaring from kitchen.
Our room was not clean. Food in the refrigerator, floor not vacuumed (there were pills on the floor of the bedroom) and the beds were made but we didn't feel that they had new sheets. So I got a vacuum from front desk and vacuumed it myself. We remade beds and threw out the food in the fridge. Not what I wanted to do after driving 5 hours. Front desk offered to put us in 2 rooms but my kids met us here from other states and we wanted to be together - so we decided to clean it and stay where we selected originally. Front desk took off $100 - but seriously was shocked it wasn't at least 50% off. It was a lot of money to stay there for my family and it was gross.
Nothing
The pool was to cold to swim in. The food was horrible. Complained to staff and they didn't care.
Location
First night kids running and jumping on second floor above us.
The hotel was great
I have a disability and they charged me for having my service animal which is a legitimate service animal in the room not once but twice.
That they allowed pets and we got to decorate for a birthday party with lots of balloons
They only had one way in that was convenient, and only one elevator that the housekeepers used
Front staff was very accommodating to the large group we had. He did everything in his best effort to ensure we were all close to one another. However, there were issues with making keys and it appeared in the middle of the night, a key must of been made to another visitor and they walked into our room in the middle of the night. Very weird and scary as there were kids.
The breakfast had many more options than other similar hotels. It was delicious.
Smock smells
Good Breakfast
Great location and condition of the hotel. Really really great options for breakfast! Room itself was great, only downside was bathroom could have been cleaner.
Do NOT stay here if you value cleanliness or want to avoid the smell of dog urine. Calling this a Hilton is an insult to the brand.
My family had a three-night reservation, but our stay was cut short immediately upon seeing the condition of the hotel. The front desk chair looked shredded, and the lobby floor was disgustingly filthy. The hallway carpet was not only heavily worn but also extremely dirty. Upon entering our room, we were hit with an overwhelming smell of dog urine. The beds were unmade, suggesting the sheets hadn't been changed, and the entire room appeared uncleaned for a long time. The odor was so intense we couldn't stay for more than a few minutes.
We immediately requested a refund at the front desk, not wanting a different room given the hotel's obvious disregard for cleanliness. The front desk staff claimed they couldn't help and directed us to the 1-800 number. After explaining the unacceptable conditions to the 1-800 representative, we were put on hold for 20 minutes while they tried unsuccessfully to reach the hotel.
We ended up staying at a Holiday Inn Express. Despite never using or staying in the room, Homewood Suites refused to issue a refund, forcing us to file a chargeback with our credit card company. This property clearly suffers from absentee ownership and indifferent staff. The numerous reviews about its filth and dire need of renovation are 100% accurate. Save yourself the trouble and avoid this place.
If you care about cleanliness and not smelling dog urine, wouldn't recommend staying here. Calling this a Hilton is an insult to the Hilton name. My family had a reservation here for 3 nights. Went to check-in with another family member and first red flag was the front desk office chair looked like it had been shredded by a bear. The lobby floor was extremely filthy. And when we headed to our room to inspect the room for any issues, the hallway carpet was heaving, extremely bad in the middle and was extremely filthy. Upon entering the room, it reeked very heavily of dog urine. Both of the beds, the sheets were not tucked in, probably didn't change the sheets, and the room looked filthy. You could tell that the room had not been cleaned very well in a very long time. Only was in the room a few minutes looking around, and the odor of dog urine was so extreme that we had to leave. We immediately headed back to the front desk to ask for a refund. We did not want a different room, because we could tell that this hotel did not care about cleanliness at all due to the issues described above. The reservation was reserved through the hotel, but the women at the front desk said she was unable to help us, and that we'd have to call the 1 800 number. We left the hotel and contacted the 1 800 number. We explained the situation and how the room was unacceptable, and the issues described above. The man that we spoke to said that he would need to contact the hotel. We were on hold for twenty minutes and he was unable to reach the hotel. We ended up staying at the Holiday Inn Express across from Pizza Ranch. We never used the room nor stayed in the room at Homewood Suites. However, they think they can keep our money. They did not care when we spoke to them and we ended up having to file a charge back with our credit card company. You can tell that it is an absentee owner at this property and that the staff could give a care less. Save yourself and do not stay here. All the other reviews, stating that it is filthy and dirty and needs renovated are one hundred percent accurate.
