I had an amazing experience at this hotel. The staff were extremely helpful, and the overall comfort was excellent. It’s not very modern, but it has such a unique charm. There’s something about the aura of this place that feels out of this world — I truly did not want to leave. The tranquility and the calm view of the sea are absolutely mesmerising.
Great hotel off the beaten path. Excellent breakfast. Close enough to the water that we could hear the surf from our room in the evening.
Cheerful and helpfull staff
Great place for a reprieve. Loved walking along the headlands.
The view was amazing and the staff was so nice
Gorgeous spot, we had an unusually sunny evening and had the place to ourselves - it was a Monday - 10 minutes drive to Ballymaloe cookery school and shop, don’t miss it! Jade was at reception and was very helpful and friendly. Room was lovely, you couldn’t top the view, between the harbour, lighthouse and ocean it was spectacular. Had dinner at the hotel restaurant, it was excellent. Will definitely stay again.
Amazing location
outstanding food
Staff were fantastic and friendly
Requests need to be reassured at busy times
Truly a delight on the food service
This hotel had a fabukous view but the bathroom was old, damp dingy and dirty. For the price we would of expected a much better place to get cleaned up in.
It was so lovely, wish we were staying more than one night and definitely going to come back in the summer time. The hotel is so well kept, you wouldn't know it's 100+ years old. The rooms were pristine and the oceanic views from the windows are sublime. Can't wait to come back!
Spectacular view. Wonderful staff. Very comfortable rooms
Revisited the Bay View after many years. On earlier visit had been very impressed but on this occasion we were disappointed by the lack of cleanliness in the room. Manager acted promptly to change our room. However refurbishment seems long overdue. The dining/ food was excellent and staff friendly. But in terms of rating 4 stars it is not. 3 stars more appropriate and rooms very overpriced.
Disappointing, Standards gave slipped. Kettle not working, tall lamp not working, I had to clean the toilet bowl. No toilet roll on the roll holder . Food was very expensive. Won’t be going back unfortunately
The view was amazing and accessibility to one of the best little hikes Ireland has to offer.
I enjoyed my welcome from reception my large room tho next time would try for doors and balcony. Terrace great with wonderful views. Exceptional service in forwarding the chargers I had left behind. Thx !
The Location on the water was breathtaking, beautiful sunset and sunrise.
Lacked atmosphere and staff were not over helpful and friendly
Fabulous location and friendly hotel, will go back again
The location was excellent but this hotel was expensive, food and drink, in particular, was expensive. e.g. a glass of wine €9 a tiny portion of desert €9.50. The room we were staying in had a tiny window which left our room very dark even on a bright day. We had to drive 15 mins in the car to use a pool in another hotel. When we asked at reception for a room with a bigger window to appreciate the view we were told that would cost us 0ver €200 more. So overall we were disappointed
Very nice hotel in a very small town. Can walk to everything. Spacious rooms well appointed and right on the water so great view. Only negative was that carpet was somewhat soiled. We didn't eat or drink here as frequented the local establishments so no comment on these operations. Clientele seemed a bit on the older side.
Nothing beats the location, with the wonderful view of the water, the lighthouse, and the pier and seawall. Just a brief walk to the pier, the cliffs and to town. Staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable, although the bathrooms could use some updating.
