The Best resort in Mactan!! Great memory again, thank you so much!
Crimson Mactan is an excellent place to enjoy your vacation. A welcoming staff, excellent food and a beautiful place.
Great- beautiful-comfortable
Amazing in so many words I loved it here absolutely perfect
The staff were very friendly. The pools were all exceptional and the place never felt busy despite having alot of guests. The beach was crystal clear with lots of fish for the kids to see. The Azure restaurant had many good options and all were amazing. Thank you to Mica and Marvie from the saffron restaurant and to Vandy at Crimzone.
You will feel comfortable eating and drinking here
It was a truly wonderful experience! I loved all the amenities and the food, and the room was incredibly spacious with an authentic and relaxing atmosphere.
I would like to especially commend Kenneth and Nic from Azure for being very attentive and accommodating..they truly went the extra mile to make our stay memorable. I’d also like to recognize Yanie and Aurelio from the Lifeguard team for their kindness and friendly, approachable service.
Kudos to the entire team at Crimson! This has been our best stay so far. More power and we look forward to coming back!
What an amazing Hotel, probably one of the best we've experienced around the world. Location, room, atmosphere, food and especially staff were awesome Aurelio, Ella, JR, Gene and Mitch especially really went above and beyond every day, making us feel like family. Thanks you so much.
We stayed in a pool villa for 4 days, and our expectations were far exceeded! Our experience from start to finish could not be faulted.
There is a more personal experience for villa guests; however, the elevated details make your stay really special and are very well thought-through, such as a dedicated villa host, seamless in-villa check-in/out and afternoon cocktails.
If you book direct, you can avail a complimentary round-trip transfer from the airport.
The villa itself was spotless and well-appointed. Of course, we loved the private plunge pool and didn’t feel the need to use the main pool.
The only thing we missed was the spa! The staff's hospitality was wonderful.
Everyone we encountered was friendly, welcoming and attentive.
A special mention to Jake, Leo and Clive who took care of us at Saffron Cafe!
Breakfast options were abundant, with good Asian and Western options.
There was also an à la carte menu for villa guests.
We had dinner at the Japanese restaurant AKA, and I have to say the food and service were exceptional! Some of the best Japanese food I’ve ever had!
The resort is wonderfully maintained with lush greenery and landscaping. It was not too busy when we stayed, which I imagine could contribute significantly to your overall experience and the facilities.
Something guests may find challenging is that the resort is a bit remote, and although there is a shuttle to take you into town, there isn’t anything in the immediate area. You would need to call a Grab/taxi to go somewhere, as the area is not walkable.
We stayed 2 nights here at the end of our Philippines trip before flying home to the UK from Cebu airport which is a 20 min drive - although it was 45 minutes for us flying home as there was a festival on so be aware of the traffic impacts!
The hotel is better in real life than it looks on line, the majority of the rooms are set up in single storey bungalows with gardens and the overall ambience of the site is great. It's not a top end 5* hotel, but it has a much more friendly vibe than a lot of hotels in this tier and we much preferred that. The Azure Beach Club is particularly good, really relaxed vibe, great cocktails and great food. We had intended to eat in the other restaurants but we liked it so much we ate every meal there; it feels more like an independent beach bar than a big hotel bar.
All of the staff are vrey friendly and have a high standard of training - especially those in the Azure Beach Club; it's a professional service.
One thing to watch our for, every Saturday and Sunday from mid afternoon there is a foam party in the main pool!!! It's a lot of fun but it's VERY unexpected and also pretty loud, a little bit like you've been transported to another hotel entirely!! It definitely wont be to everyone's tastes; but many people will love it (and they do, they come here just for that!).
We had booked a stay at this hotel, which presents itself as a “5-star” property. Unfortunately, we were unable to travel due to a serious accident.
We contacted the hotel, and they confirmed that our reservation would be cancelled and that we would receive a full refund of the amount paid. Following their instructions, we sent all the required supporting documents on February 11 as proof.
However, since that date we have still not received any refund. Even worse, the hotel has completely stopped responding. Despite several follow-up emails, we have received no reply at all.
This is extremely disappointing behavior for a hotel of this supposed standard. The lack of customer service and communication is unacceptable.
Very disappointing experience — zero customer service.
KALMA
Josh, Justine, Anna
I ordered ice cream and tuna sandwich.
Their customer service was excellent.
And, the food was delicious.
I recommend this restaurant.
I visited here with my friend. And I had a great experience! There were so many kind and nice staffs and they always took care of us. Especially in Kalma, Josh, Justin and Anna gave us great service! Also the Ube ice cream is one of my favorite foods in this cebu trip. Please give it a try!
Thank you for the great Snorkeling Tour Aurelio& Francis !
We felt well taken care of and were able to see loads of different fish at two different spots .
Would book again !
Overall fantastic stay at the Crimson. The room and bed were super comfortable, the staff were amazing and the food & drinks were also great. A personal highlight was snorkelling with Nelson, Reynaldo, Joel, and Aurelio. They were super friendly and I some really impressive corals and fishes.
Pros:
- The hotel grounds are beautifully landscaped, including multiple pools and kids play facility.
- Room was clean with comfortable bedding.
Cons:
- Management was disorganized.
1. Upon check in, we were initially told that the room with king bed (pre booked) was not available and we would get a room with 2 twin beds. Although the issue was eventually resolved, it was stressful waiting for the king room to open while we waited poolside, after a long flight.
2. Front desk is understaffed and unreliable. Calling the front desk, we often got no answers. When a staff picked up the call, they gave inconsistent/unhelpful response to questions, such as can I reserve a cab? how do I get a babysitter? is there currency exchange on site? We found out after days and asking multiple people, that there is no onsite babysitter service (as mentioned on website), no currency exchange (nor working ATM), and hotel has cab service sometimes but not always (so you can call your own taxi via GRAB).
3. Staff and bell persons are constantly asking your for Room #, we often repeated multiple times in succession. This could be a safety/privacy issue as anyone in the vicinity would be hear your Room #. This treatment also made us feel like walking #s rather than guests.
- Sparse dining options: There were 3 main restaurants, but only one was open daily. The hotel says 24hr room dining service but many of the items on the menu were not available when we called to order. The breakfast buffet is mediocre with limited variety.
- Room/housekeeping quality: The AC in the room was old and made loud noises while dripping water. Water pressure was weak. One day, after housekeeping cleaned the room, I found crusty soup remnants in the cup. We ran out of toilet paper, called to request for more, but these were not delivered until much later, when we went to front desk in person.
I spent one night at Crimson Resort and Spa Mactan during my last trip to the Philippines, and although it was a very short stay, it was a pleasant one. I landed in Cebu and had a flight to El Nido the following day, so I was looking for a hotel where I could relax by the sea while still being close to the airport: the Crimson was perfect for that.
The resort is quite large and set in a quiet green oasis in the middle of the chaos of Mactan. We arrived in the early afternoon and check-in was fairly quick. Our room was already ready, so we were able to change and head straight to the beach to relax in the sun after a long intercontinental flight.
Our room was certainly not the most modern I’ve ever stayed in, but it served its purpose well considering we were only there for one night. It was fairly spacious and clean.
The beach is quite small and the sea is decent — not the postcard-perfect paradise you find in other parts of the Philippines, but still nice. There are also large swimming pools available. I was there over the weekend and they organize a foam party in the afternoon, which seems to be very popular with a certain type of guest (personally, I’m not a fan of seeing the pool filled with foam, but that’s just my personal taste).
The beach bar service was friendly and efficient. We had an aperitif at Azure Beach Club: the setting is lovely, although unfortunately the cocktails were not amazing.
In the evening we stayed at the resort and had dinner at one of their restaurants, specifically the Japanese restaurant AKA. We ate very well, with excellent value for money, and the setting is very charming. The only thing I would improve, in my opinion, is the wine list. As throughout the resort, the staff here were attentive and kind.
Breakfast was included in our rate and it was excellent, with a very wide and varied buffet selection.
My stay at the Crimson was not cheap - I was traveling in high season, between Christmas and New Year - but all in all I had a great time, and it was exactly what I was looking for to spend my night in Cebu.
The ambiance was good. The people are friendy specially Yanie, Shen, Arcee and Vandy. They played ping pong with me. Thank you Crimson!
The hotel is not prepared to accommodate the number of guests it receives; there are not enough chairs or sun loungers by the pools. Those who don't arrive early to get a chair have to sleep on makeshift mats on the ground. Food and drink service at the pool is not available, and cleanliness leaves much to be desired. There is a lack of quality, coordinated activities for children. We will not return and do not recommend it.Our room overlooked a fence. The bathroom flooded during showers because the drain was clogged.
The room, restaurants, and pool were all excellent. Above all, thanks to the wonderful hospitality of the staff, especially concierge, we were able to enjoy an unforgettable vacation. Thank you so much.
Food was surprisingly good. The kids club was also really good. Our kids loved playing with Joey. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
The rooms are also nice.
