The check in staff was very kind.

Our stay started off on a wonderful note. Check-in was quick, easy, and informative, thanks to Michelle at the front desk, who made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived.
Our room had a very comfortable king-size bed and was clean, spacious, and well maintained. It also included convenient amenities such as a microwave, refrigerator, iron, and ironing board.
What impressed us the most, however, was the breakfast. The wide variety of fresh, delicious food exceeded our expectations and was a wonderful way to start each day.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely return. We highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable, welcoming place to stay.

I stayed at the hotel in Marriott, Fairfield at Briar Field in Durham, NC. I secured three rooms for our Family reunion. All rooms were paid for with my Marriott Bonvoy credit card. A few weeks later, I received a call from one of the hotel front desk clerks that management placed extra charges on my card because my family member who lives close by the hotel hosted the reunion but did not pay for the conference room for our banquet. I asked how did they charge my card when I was not on contract for securing any other rooms outside of my three hotel rooms. She informed that she notified management that it was not right for them to charge my card but they did it anyway. My card was charged and I was not able to make purchases for my rental properties, it affected my credit. I called the hotel and they stated that because they could not get a hold of my cousin, who was the one who secured the banquet hall, they arbitrarily selected my card. I utilize the Marriot as I travel the world, both for leisure and for business. I am disgusted that a hotel such as the Marriott would do something like this and my trust for this hotel chain is at an all time low. Although my card has finally been settled with the funds being returned, it was illegal for them to charge my card just because they could not get a hold of my family member. I had nothing to do with whatever agreements they had with my family member. I will be sharing this because I want to warn the public of the practices that hotel has and does. it is dishonest and totally illegal.
I will never again stay at this hotel. The management is dishonest. The staff was great, however the charging of my credit card without my permission and for charges I did not incur shows the lack of integrity by the management.

The room was very nice

I hate leaving negative reviews, but people deserve to know about our experience.

Our family chose this hotel for a reunion, and unfortunately, it was one issue after another.

The meeting room rental was supposed to be charged to the card that was provided before the event. The hotel failed to process the payment before the reunion. Afterward, they did contact the person responsible for the payment and were told that she would unlock the card and contact them as soon as her work schedule allowed so they could process the charge. Instead of waiting, the hotel repeatedly called and texted her while she was at work.

Rather than allowing the agreed upon time for the payment to be completed, they charged a family member's credit card without their knowledge or authorization. That family member had absolutely nothing to do with reserving the meeting space or planning the event. Even more concerning, hotel management acknowledged that the charges were not that person's responsibility, but still tried to justify charging the wrong person because they had failed to charge the correct card.

The customer service made the situation even worse. The Assistant General Manager, Leandra, was rude and confrontational with several members of our family throughout the weekend. At one point, other family members had to step in to calm the situation down. She also openly talked about being overworked and said she was not a fan of family reunions, mentioning that she had dealt with another reunion the previous weekend. As paying guests, we should never have been made to feel like our event was a burden.

The meeting space was also not properly prepared. The tables and floors were dirty when we arrived, which was disappointing for a paid event space.

We still made the best of our reunion because spending time with family was what mattered most. Unfortunately, the hotel experience did not reflect the level of professionalism we expected.

Between the unauthorized credit card charge, the excessive calls and texts, the poor customer service, and the lack of cleanliness, I would not recommend this hotel for reunions or special events. I hope management takes a serious look at both their billing practices and the way guests are treated.

Very well priced for the quality. I called just after 10am asking for early check-in - hoping they would allow us to check in around noon or so, but they let us come and check in immediately

I recently stayed at this hotel and, unfortunately, the experience was quite disappointing due to poor service and inappropriate room assignments. While the location, cleanliness, and breakfast were somewhat satisfactory, these positives were heavily outweighed by other significant issues.

The service failures began at check-in, where after collecting my credit card and ID and starting the process of check-in, I was ignored for fifteen minutes by the front office staff while they prioritized a personal phone call. Once I was finally helped, I discovered that despite booking two separate rooms, both had been assigned as accessible rooms without any prior notice. These accommodations were entirely unsuitable for our needs; the lack of bathroom separation caused the floors to flood every time they were used. Furthermore, assigning these rooms to us meant they were unavailable for guests who may have actually required those specific accessibility features.

Because of the unprofessional service and the poor room assignments, I do not recommend this hotel.

This was a great experience. The room was clean and free parking is always a plus but what made this a great experience was the desk agent Renisha. After initially booking with another competitor and having a terrible experience, Renisha with the Fairfield Inn & Suites team made my trip end on a high note. She quickly supported me with getting a room. Her empathy for my situation and understanding for my concern with safety made it a great experience.

The helpful and friendly front desk at check in. We had a long day of flights and airport layover. We were very tired.

Breakfast was good and the kitchen staff was very helpful.
