Staff were nice and location was good.
Noisy people above us were not asked to be quiet during the hours of midnight to 3:30am, so we had to switch rooms and stay in a tiny room with no balcony or reasonable amenities till those people moved out and then repacked again and moved back into a room we had paid for.

Lovely unassuming stay. The villas have very charming, comfortable atmosphere. The staff is great to managers to the bar restaurant. There is spa that have wonderful massages inn spot right on the water.
I can't think of anything
The Caribbean Villas Hotel has the exact vibe you would want on a tropical holiday. Unlike many accommodations on the water they have a spacious real beach that you can access the ocean from. The coconut palms and vegetation provide a lush experience with cooling shade. The 2 small pools with decking, beach loungers, private balconies, and giant restaurant /bar palapa offer plenty of options for you to enjoy time on the grounds outside of your unit. The staff was super accommodating, especially the young woman at the desk who not only accommodated a room change for me but was flexible around checkout time. It was really nice to have a bar and restaurant on location so if you just wanted to lay low you had only to shuffle across the sand to get what you needed. The coconut curry and the breakfasts were particularly good although Some of the other offerings were kinda meh bar food.... It was a short drive to the center of San Pedro Town and the Airport but not inconvenient and It lent a more serene environment away from the busy town center. And although this was on the edge of the commercial distric, there were several restaurants and a supermarket conveniently located nearby. I was pleased we had hot water, good AC, and a comfortable bed with streaming capabilities on the TV for moments of rest and relaxation in the unit.
Anyone traveling to San Pedro must adjust their expectations if they're coming from the US or more developed countries. Just about everywhere you go is very dated, worn and has seen many hurricanes over the past 15 years. This is true of this hotel as well. Likewise, although it's a developing nation, it is not inexpensive like other countries in Central America. I found the food and drinks comparable to what we would pay in the US which was quite disappointing especially since the cocktails we're not strong enough to warrant the price. $10-18! I would also recommend that anyone with dampness or mold sensitivities stay on a higher floor as my best guess is that the first floor has seen some high water in recent years and although the rooms have been painted and attended to, there is residual musty smells, which I understandis not the case on higher floors which also have better privacy. Overall, I still think Caribbean Villas hotel is an excellent value for a waterfront accommodation with a great vibe, attentive staff, and all the amenities you need to relax and enjoy your vacation.
The location is ideal, right on the beach. The staff work diligently in the morning to clear the beach of the Sargassum. The 2 pools and pool deck were clean and lovely. The hotel room itself was clean, yet basic. We stayed x 7 nights and had to ask the staff to come in to tidy our room, which after the request they did complete every 1-2 days.
The bathrooms were basic and outdated.
Our stay was pleasant, albeit a bit expensive for the value. However after spending a week on the island, I have concluded that San Pedro as a town is expensive for the value more so than singling out Carribean Villas itself.
The Golf Cart rental offered at the hotel was poor. We reserved a Golf Cart through the front desk 1 day ahead for 9am the next day. The Golf Cart never arrived. The staff at the front desk called and the driver with the cart eventually showed up, saying there was no record of the booking. We eventually got it sorted and got going after 10am.
Clean and well kept grounds. The staff were lovely- especially LeRoi and Gerry - thanks guys! Location was good and the restaurant food great.
The rooms were adequate but basic and the beds not very comfortable. Faucets in bathroom and shower need to be replaced.

Sadly the sargassum was very bad this time of year but the guys worked hard continuously on it and did their best .
I’m not a pool person so I was a bit down that I was only able to go in the ocean once . But that’s Mother Nature 🤷♀️
