Horrible Service
Pros:

Location is the only good thing about this place.

Cons:

The service was horrible. They charged my card and wanted me to pay again because it "didn't show up in their system" meanwhile I'm holding my phone with the charge right in front of them. The staff could care less to help you with anything. Just in the time I was standing there trying to resolve this whole issue, two other guests came to the front desk asking for a new room because one's smelled like mold and the other had asked for room service 4 times over the past two days and had gotten none. The room itself was not very clean and all the furniture was so beat up and not taken care of, there was even a glass cup by the sink that had red sticky residue from a previous guest and was not washed. Would NOT recommend staying here.

Pros:

If you can, stay somewhere else. The room was barely passable as clean, I lived out of my suitcase for the 4 days we were there. I did not want to put anything in the drawers. The bathroom wasn't very clean either, all metal surfaces looked like they were rusty. The blanket for the sofa bed looked like someone's dog chewed a hole in it. The room smelled musty / stale as well.
The hotel breakfast was gross, the eggs were cold and disgusting. The baked goods were dry / stale. I avoided it after the first day of our stay.

Pros:

Very friendly and helpful front desk staff. I liked the room layout with the couch. The bed was very comfortable and I slept soundly, which isn't typical for me in a hotel.

Staff was friendly and helpful. The location was convenient to the ballparks, bars & restaurants.

Cons:

It wasn't exceptionally clean but tolerable. The location and it's proximity to the highway makes it noisy. Must keep the fan running all night to help drown out the noise.

We had an awesome time!
Pros:

Location was super convenient, the room was comfortable and very clean. We loved the breakfast!! We also loved the comfy chairs outside by the fire pit.

Cons:

Minor issue: ice machine on 4th floor wasn't working.

Very nice stay at Hyatt
Pros:

Size and cleanliness of the room, pretty good breakfast, friendly and helpful staff, convenience of location to the Pirates stadium. Plenty of restaurants nearby.

Pros:

Location is great for football vans that don't like semi-luxury accommodations. Upon check in the staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was dirty the couch had some type of white spot on it. The floor was dirty with spots and debris. A long piece of hair was on the bathroom floor. There was some type of dried stain on the back of the bathtub. The room had a smell, and to top it all the maintenance people knock on the door to fix the ceiling tiles upon us checking in. This was my first time in Pittsburgh, and I couldn't believe the condition of the room in this hotel. It's in bad need of some upgrades. I have stayed in much nicer 3-star hotels. I checked out within an hour of getting there.

Hyatt can do a lot better
Pros:

Hyatt Place at North Shore is shockingly unclean for the Hyatt brand. We had to request a room change because the side table was filthy. There is no daily housekeeping. You need to request for HK at the front desk. The housekeeping staff are stretched and will only change the sheets. No cleaning of restrooms or even the sink. The front lobby and elevators are also dirty. We stayed here for 5 days and it was a disappointing experience. Bring your own cleaners! The hotel does not have a restaurant and a muffin at the front desk sells for $5.
