Another great place to stay...try the restaurant here, you will be pleasantly surprised.
Pros:

The restaurant evening dinner food was amazing, exceeded some of the Queenstown restaurants in taste, serving size and overall quality.

Cons:

I've stayed here before on several occasions for work so no there is nothing I don't like.

There Must be Better Places to Stay in Timaru...
Pros:

Big, clean room.

Cons:

Very dated, shabby corridor and public spaces. Water pooled in shower -- drained very slowly. Showerhead clamp didn't work.
Buy by far the worst aspect was the location -- on SH1 and a hill, so lots of traffic straining to climb. We hardly slept.
Finally, in the gym somebody was vaping on the rowing machine...turns out it was a staff member.
