Nothing it was perfect
The restaurant and bar looked nice.
Our rooms were given away to 3 other clients who had the same name to us! We were offered 1 double, 1 twin and 1 single when we booked 3 doubles. We said no. They moved the clients out of our rooms and cleaned our rooms. We were given rooms 1, 6 and 11. Room 1 is absolutely filthy. A health and safely hazard to people with allergies. There is all mould in the bathroom that has had sealant put in top of mould. Mould all round the windows. The cealing has had a leak and is all flaky and mouldy. The yellow sofa has black arms. The pink lampshades are supposed to be pink but are fury grey with thick dust. The 4 poster bed cover is thick with dust in the top. Behind the door by the radiator is a think line of dust at the edge the carpet. Room 6 the walls have been painted over the wallpaper. Poor effort to re decorate. The corridor has had new wooden panels and all saw dust has been left on the carpet.
Room 11 smells fusty and my daughter’s asthma was wheezy during the night due to the smell. The wardrobe had been punched In the door. It had a big hole and when opened it falls off. When the room door was opened In the morning, all you can smell is cigarettes. The stairs you have to climb in the pitch black as the light does not come on until you get to the top of the stairs. The ladies toilet In the restaurant has all mould round the base. We complained and I have been told twice this is a cheap hotel. So that clearly means it’s on to be filthy. I have also been told how I have described the dirt is un true. I have been denied a refund as I stated there. Due to our rooms being given away we do not see our rooms until 10pm, the bar had shut and no one was there for us to get a refund that night. Plus our party had a drink whilst we waited, meaning we could no longer drive as would be over the limit. Also room 6 claims to Be a double, it has a queen size bed and a single wardrobe. We think our room that we’re give away as they did not check the previous party in properly.
The room was spacious and clean. It had the basic facilities to make tea and coffee, biscuits were left out too. The shower was clean and powerful and staff were very friendly. We ate in the restaurant and the meals were good.
The room was very hot, we couldn’t turn them down and asked if they could do it for us but they stayed very hot. We slept with the windows open which was ok but we were on the road so we could hear the traffic all night and the bell ringing every hour. Extra lighting to show the way to the smoking area would have been helpful.
Convenience to Bath
Excellent staff and manager
Convenient location & helpful staff
Room a good size for a single. Walk-in shower and hot water available as needed. Breakfast was freshly cooked and plentiful. Secondary double glazing in room window cut out majority of traffic noise. Staff very pleasant.
Not something that the hotel can do anything about, but less mobile guests need to be aware of steep stairs to first & second floor.
Staff were wonderful and the room was clean and comfortable.
The room was super quiet, clean, comfortable bed. For the price this place is fantastic. When I booked I didn’t realize it was 30 minutes from bath but honestly not a problem the town is really nice. Great location 5 minutes from the bus stop and restaurants. It’s a pretty ride between towns and no noise from the pub below. There’s a nice walking path down the street as well. Staff is very nice. We didn’t have any problems.
We didn’t have any problems, really exceeded expectations.
Location
Wasn’t clean in the room false nails under bed and very noisy at night doors slamming cracked mirror and broken window glass
breakfast was amazing.
Wifi not so great, but new owners may fix this. My sort of hotel, Lovely old style rooms. Great location and good parking. Everything i needed in a hotel
The hotel has been taken over by a new landlord, they have done great work on the restaurant and bar area and the value of the evening dinner and drinks was great. Not too far from the University.
There are staffing issues and although told the night before that was ok for breakfast, in the morning the chef refused to serve me breakfast as hadn't pre-booked. The room smelt of smoke.
