An unbeatable location – when you arrive in a strange city with heavy luggage, step right out of the SBB station and see a beautiful, clean hotel just across the street, and then walk in to be greeted by a warm and friendly front desk staff – that feeling is just so comforting. Right outside the hotel, there are buses and trams to all the major sights . The breakfast is exquisite, the beer at the bar has a rich malty aroma, and one more most important thing – I have to say it loud three times: the hotel has air conditioning! The hotel has air conditioning! THE HOTEL HAS AIR CONDITIONING!

The room, location, and breakfast were all above our expectations! Since we arrived by train, and the hotel is directly across from the station the convenience was immeasurable. The staff is superior! The breakfast was perfect!

We loved the location of the hotel and the ease of using the trams out front.
We found the breakfast and morning service to be wonderful as were the rooms and the windows that cut out all and any noise from the trams.
Arrived in the evening for a one night stopover so the proximity to the station was great.
Didn't expect to get much from Basel in such a short visit but the free travel pass and advice from a really friendly and informative member of staff meant we made the most of it. A tram journey, a walk by the river and a great meal gave us a positive impression of Basel......and its river-swimming culture!
