Great location, value for money, clean, quiet and comfortable.
Pros:

So, so central to everything I needed.
Flew to Sydney so just across the road from Central railway station and light rail.
They had my room ready for me really early. Thankyou.
Room clean, very quiet, comfortable and great staff.
I love the area, little Thailand area, so food I love and I saw a show at Capitol theatre a few minutes walk away.

Go for the location & historic building

Great location to catch the light rail or train. Close to tons of Chinese & Thai restaurants & the big City city shopping place.

art-deco oasis in the centre of the city
Pros:

After slumming in shared-bathroom hotels to save money, this hotel was an oasis.
The room was quite a big, larger than I expected. It included a good sized writing desk where I could sit down and work. There were facial tissues available, a feature more often seen in 4-star hotels. Relatively recent renovations give the hotel a generally shiny feeling, but they've maintained the lovely old art-deco style. I thought it was good they offer a choice of breakfasts, just cereals and toast if you want something lighter and less expensive, or full cooked breakfast if you want that. I'd be happy to stay again.

I would not book it again
Pros:

the bar was a separate business and it was very good.

Cons:

The hotel was old and needed a face lift, stained floors, broken buffet bench. the rooms were very small, the view was another set of rooms.
