LOCATION AND STAFF
Disappointing stay due to multiple maintenance and amenity issues.
· Missing Essentials: Basic toiletries like a toothbrush and toothpaste were not provided.
· Faulty Amenities: The hair dryer was not in working condition.
· Furniture Problem: The bed's headrest was broken, as a supporting pin had come out.
There was no complimentary breakfast provided..Location was very nice. It's in the heart of Ootty
Toilet was not the expectations. Too small. Need to modernise entirely
Location was good
We had a very unpleasant experience at this hotel. The bathroom was dirty and unhygienic, and the drainage system was poor—water wouldn’t pass through properly. The towels provided were very old, and the blanket was thin, dirty, smelly, and practically useless in the cold weather.
Despite being a cold city (even in July, temperatures were around 15°C at night and 18°C during the day), hot water was only available for a few hours (7–10 AM and 7–10 PM). Unfortunately, even during these hours, no hot water came from the taps, making it extremely difficult to take a bath.
There was no WiFi, which was another major inconvenience. We ended up leaving the hotel after just one night and booked a better place with proper hot water and WiFi facilities.
The staff, in general, were not helpful, with the only exception being Dinesh, who kindly brought us a bucket of hot water when nothing was available. He was the only one who showed any sense of responsibility. I added a picture of the bucket he brought for us.
Would not recommend this hotel based on our experience.
Rather, I would say – please stay far away from this hotel. Based on our experience, it’s simply not worth your time or money.
Adhoc. Brkfst . Good
Leaky toilet pipes, limited hours of hot water, and the absence of a heater in the room are all concerning issues. The poor response and lack of a welcoming reception are unacceptable.

Extremely Disappointed – Not Worth the Money
I had one of the worst hospitality experiences at Nahar Ooty, and I regret booking this place. From the moment we arrived, the reception staff were outright rude, unhelpful, and shockingly entitled—a far cry from what one would expect from a hotel charging over ₹6,500 + taxes per night. There was no courtesy, no basic assistance, and certainly no effort made to make guests feel welcome. It felt like they were doing us a favor just by speaking to us.
Coming to the rooms, the entire place reeked of mould, which immediately raised concerns about hygiene and upkeep. To make matters worse, the bathroom was unhygienic, and we found strands of hair in the bathtub, clearly indicating it hadn’t been cleaned properly. For the price we paid, this level of negligence is unacceptable.
Overall, this was a complete waste of money. I strongly advise others to consider alternate accommodations in Ooty. Nahar clearly thrives on its old reputation and location, but the service, cleanliness, and value are abysmal. Not recommended.
