Nice stay
Pros:

Good location in kings lynn, very central.
Lovely breakfast
Clean.

Cons:

Little bit basic/shabby in the area between the old hotel and newer part of the building. Rooms were nice though.

Poor amount of sockets. Mirror mounted too high to see when sat at desk.

Don't book the rooms next to lift - horrible noise
Pros:

Location is the best aspect of this hotel, convenient to go anywhere in city centre

Cons:

The lift should be serviced, possibly changed to new one! It makes soooo much noise and we were given a room right next to it. If I had known, I wouldn't have booked the room or the hotel! All one hopes for is a silent and good night's sleep. The bathroom had recent construction sort of dirt, wasn't even cleaned well. Cutlery in the room wasn't clean either, it was sticky and not cleaned after previous use (yuck!). The hotel staff wasn't accommodating about any of these issues either!

We did enjoy the break shame about nighles
Pros:

The location and the fact it was reminiscent of d style hotels we stayed in when we were younger
The walk in shower and layout of bedroom

Cons:

It was not very disabled friendly I appreciate it is an old building but we had to walk from the car park to the front of the building which if you are struggling to walk is quite a way especially when your given a bedroom which is the length of the building and we could see the car!! Walking backwards and forwards made it difficult along with steps at front door. They asked us to book if we wanted an evening meal we did have to bother you could have say anywhere. The meal was not good and not worth the money. Portions were questionable and whilst waiting we noticed people were sending back food and leaving quite a lot. Breakfast did look more acceptable and was well attended

Good location, but needs serious improvements
Pros:

Good location central to the town, nice breakfast with veggie and meat options.
Clean bathroom and towels, bedding clean, comes with tea/ coffee in room
Staff were pleasant and changed room when given 4th floor option

Cons:

Parking is £15 in their car park, but park at front of hotel for £3, was double charged for parking - £15 in the car park and then another £15 at the desk but didn't explain at time what the charge was for. Mold in room and needs serious attention to decor, paint peeling off wall, water damage and mold in stairway too. Came back to the room after breakfast and found 2 men in the room, one with a cigarette in his mouth on the toilet, we had not checked out yet. Hair dryer in room had not been PAT tested in 4 years. I wouldn't stay here again, could have passed as a 4 star in the past but has really gone downhill. Not worth paying £350 for 1 night for 2 rooms.

Our stay at The Dukes Head added to our enjoyment of our Festival visit.
Pros:

The location was perfect for our visit to Festival events.
The breakfast was self service and there was a good choice on the cereal counter and for afterwards an English breakfast was available. It was well cooked and kept topped up.
The beds were comfortable and toiletries provided.

Cons:

Access to the car park is quite a way from the reception area which could make life difficult for a lot of elderly people.
Nowadays perhaps USB charging sockets are important and not that difficult to fit?
Fire escape signage on the 4th floor was inadequate.

Could have been better
Pros:

Central location clean rooms

Cons:

Despite email to property to say 80 years old with mobility issues allocated a room with over bath shower we could not access. On a happier note my husband said he enjoyed me going him his morning strip wash 🤣

Very comfortable. Helpful staff. Ideal for visiting Corn Exchange Theatre opposite
Pros:

Hotel very comfortable, and absolutely ideal for visiting the Corn Exchange Theatre just opposite. Everyone friendly and helpful.

Cons:

Not the fault of the Dukes, but parked in public car park, and impossible to pay for a long stay - had to go out several times to top up
