Pool was ok. Bed was comfortable.
Very dated hotel.
Furniture in room covered in stains.
Staff worker at breakfast was shouting and clicking at other staff, very uncomfortable to be around.
Jacuzzi has thick grime around edges.
Balcony area outside window filthy with used cigarettes dumped there.
Unfortunately several staff members unwelcoming and borderline rude.
Donegal was lovely, but this hotel was very disappointing.
I wouldn't normally leave a bad review but this was a real let down as it was a long awaited getaway.

Great welcome, clean and comfortable.
Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was divine, pool was perfect. So clean and bed were so so comfy.
The dinner wasn't great.
Hotel breakfast was lovely
Some of the staff in the mcgettigans bar were really rude, when I asked for the bill it was thrown to me off some scruffy waiter.
Also the food from the bar is the worst meal out I've had in 3 years, the fish and chips were oozing oil when pressed with fork, our food tasted like it was cooked in oil that hadn't been changed in 4 weeks.
However other than that poor experience in the bar we had a lovely stay, the breakfast in the hotel was lovely

Everything was good
The staff are excellent. Very welcoming, efficient and friendly. In the bar/restaurant it is obvious that they have received a high degree of training and were very attentive. This was also the case in the morning at breakfast. All the facilities were excellent including the swimming pool and again the staff were warm and welcoming. There was a very good selection of food at breakfast I particularly enjoyed the porridge and fruit selection.
The Monday steak special is excellent value and top quality. I really enjoyed the mushrooms easily the nicest I've eaten in a hotel restaurant. Plenty of free parking. Much easier to drive into than other hotels in and around the town. The room was quiet and the bed was very comfortable. Overall it was a very enjoyable stay.
I didn't like the choice of music at breakfast. While I enjoyed most of the breakfast some of the hot items promised a lot more than they delivered, in particular the bacon was disappointing as it was dry and chewy. It's a little too far out of the town to walk to. Having said that we very much enjoyed our stay at Clanree.
Breakfast was ok and room was clean and had everything required
The bar was too busy and tacky. The breakfast lacked vegan options other than beans and overcooked sausages. The room had 2 broken power sockets and we were not told that there were concerts going on below our room which meant we had to keep windows shut. The main reception was full of children running up and down and our corridor also. I don't think we would go back but it was not horrible
Great staff, very comfortable room, lovely breakfast
This was our second time to stay at Clanree Hotel & would return again. Ideal location for visiting Letterkenny & other tourist attractions in Donegal. Plenty of free parking around the hotel.
