Great location and staff, disappointing room and breakfast.
Pros:

The location was perfect as visiting family in Whickham. Very near to restaurants and shops. Staff were very friendly and professional in all parts of the hotel, restaurant and bar.

Cons:

The room was quite small and old fashioned and in need of an update. The hairdryer was in the drawer which didn't shut properly, the cord wasn't long enough to be able to use it in front of the mirror. Bathtub is very high and slippy, difficult to step out of, no handrail to help.
I had seen great reviews about the breakfast, so requested it in the booking, however it was very disappointing. Everything was cooked in butter, so unable to eat it.

Pros:

Was lovely and clean. Good size. Lovely big bed.
Lush shower and bath. Nipping clean bathroom. Lovely white fluffy towels. Bedding was immaculate, soft and warm.

Cons:

The mattress needs replacing.
