Great location! This hotel is a Historic charm. Closer to the Catedral, Relaciones exteriores office, mercado de san juan, shopping, restaurants, everything is withing ten minute walk.

It was horrible place to stay there because they did not honor Expedia reservation which I had already paid and Expedia did not help me because they were with. I don’t know whether company but it was horrible horrible experience.

Pros:

I stayed at this hotel previously in 2017, and it was a completely different experience. Granted, the area has changed a lot, but the hotel still feels rundown from my previous experience, and it lacks basic amenities such as adequate illumination and essential items like pillows and towels.

I believe it needs further improvements, especially now that the area is undergoing modernization.

I loved this place for its beautiful architecture and history. But if you want someone to take your bags to your room or an elevator? This is not your place. I had to bring all my bags up three flights of stairs. Room was great. AC that we shut off at 2am because we were actually cold. Nice shower, TV, and space. Short walk to downtown and the fun begins. You can’t beat the price.

You need to like historic buildings to appreciate this hotel. There is no elevator and no help to get your bags to your room. The staff is very friendly but lean. The building is beautiful. Bathrooms are clean but water pressure is low but serviceable. The room AC was great. In fact, put the temperature a degree or two higher than you would think. We woke up at 2am shivering and it was set at 72 degrees. They do have breakfast for a reasonable fee. But it is the same breakfast everyday. Eggs, fruit, juice, beans, chilaquiles and toast. It is quiet but close enough to the action. We like it a lot.
