Very limited parking, had to park down the road one night.
Excellent staff, great food.
The parking area was safe and conveniently located to the hotel - no long walks required
The hotel was beautiful and had lovely landscaped gardens which were well maintained. Staff were very opleasant and helpful and everywhere was clean
It is a historic building with a wow factor but is up to date inside. We had a standard room which was lovely
Dinner was great with plenty of choices and we will definitely stay again pamela
A delightful hotel with great service and excellent food choices. I only wish i had longer to explore the area.
Friendly welcome, beautiful hotel. Only small point, conditioner in shampoo bottles and toilet wouldn’t stop flushing. No one on reception when we checked out so couldn’t mention.
We used the Hotel as a base for visiting Burghley Horse Trials and it was just ideal. Room was spotless and comfortable. Staff extremely friendly. It was the perfect setting to wind down after a long day with a lovely cup of coffee. The staff kindly started the fabulous breakfast earlier than usual to allow everyone to get on the road. Car Park is quite limited on spaces but able to park on lane which always had spaces.
Really enjoyed our stay at the Talbot hotel. Staff were delightful and very helpful . Food was so good.
Very helpful staff , room was lovely , and nice breakfast
What a wonderful hotel. The grounds are beautiful, the hotel is very well kept and the staff were amazing. An overall wonderful experience at the Talbot.
Amazing piece of history and absolutely loved my stay
This is a really nice hotel with restaurant, coffee shop, bar and beautiful courtyard area. We were a group of 6 friends visiting another friend in Oundle so between us we had 3 rooms. We were in the building across the courtyard from the main body of the hotel. The rooms were lovely but quite compact which was fine. Our only criticism was that owing to it being very warm weather on Friday, the rooms were unbearably hot despite having fans in them. The windows only open a crack so we just couldnt get the rooms to cool down which made sleeping very difficult. Saturday was a cooler day but the room was still roasting on Saturday night. It is a very old building so we understand a cooling system would be difficult. Aside from that, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Talbot and all of the staff are lovely
From start to finish of our visit we were totally happy with all aspects of the stay and will certainly return.
Amazing place. The entire hotel is spotless and the staff went out of their way to greet us and help us. We genuinely felt welcome here. The buildings are beautiful.
What a great hotel. Very old buildings kept as they should be. Quirky with plenty of history. Breakfast choices were good and the service excellent.
A very good place
Thoroughly impressive hotel & in a simply stunning area, warm friendly welcome at reception checking in, upon entry into my room, a DAB radio was softly playing Classic FM in the background, even as a tattooed shaven headed man, I love Classic FM & really appreciated the touch, especially after a stressful end to my day prior to check in, I led on the bed & chilled, listening to it for an hour before dining in the restaurant, thank you ! The meal was gorgeous, superbly presented but the desert…OMG ! The Blueberry sponge with lemon sauce & sorbet !!! I could have eaten more of that, left the tastebuds tingling ! It was worth every penny & more (hence the overpayment 😉) the waiting staff were exceptional too, everything in this stop just worked superbly & was a credit to the management in providing such excellence, but, please, get some Drambuie in, I just love a Drambuie Coffee after dining ! I will certainly return !
Beautiful hotel, in a beautiful area, food good
This place is a dream. The small town of Oundle is just lovely. Taken back to 400 years ago and the Talbot inn is extraordinary. From the rooms to the food, to the amazing staff and welcome, we fell in love with it from the first second. Our fave was Alisha our waitress. She was also delightful.
Speechless!!! And that's not normal for me but I will give it a go ! Lol .... The Talbot Hotel is truly an amazing place to stay, if you are history nut such as myself the hotel is rich with history as is Peterborough itself, the staff go above and beyond to help any way they can to make your stay comfortable and stress free! ... Myself and my partner resided in the Burleigh Suite (103) ... The moment we entered the room it was just .... Wow !, the furnishings...of course the four poster bed too, we loved the bathroom too ... And loved the radio which we made a lot of use of 😊 all food was lovely and cooked to perfection Paul was a huge fan of The Talbot Burger 🍔 😁he also loved his breakfasts, I'm just not a big eater more of a grazer so unfortunately I never really ate much but all food looked delicious. Other guests were friendly and it was great to meet new people, even just local drinkers especially the couple with their cute little dog Milo (pic will follow as with many more!) also a local drinkers with his two retrievers Jasper and Piper 😊 would alo like to give a shout out to bar staff Andrew and the crew who couldn't do enough, especially Andrew who showed me some cards he acquired off eBay regarding the hotel, much appreciated 👍 ... This was a birthday treat for myself and a well need break for us both WE SHALL RETURN!! We love everything and everyone here, and to leave this morning, we was very sad to go !. But until next time, much love all and thank you ❤️
Clean and tidy. Great location
Everything about this hotel was stellar. The room, gardens, restaurant, staff, and location were absolutely outstanding. I absolutely plan to return. Not a negative, but to be informative, I am 6’3”, and most historic structures were designed for much shorter people. That said, I only had to duck my head a couple of times.
It will not impact in any way my decision to return. Couldn’t have been happier.
