We had a lovely, comfortable room. The breakfast was great. We had a lovely walk up to the statue and everything we needed was easy to get to.

My booking was a bit last minute, so the only rooms available were "small double", but it was still plenty of space for a single traveller. The double bed was a good size and very comfortable, with plenty of pillows, and housekeeping came daily (except for sunday I believe). There's tea/coffee facilities in the room, and a big TV on the wall. The bathroom had a big shower with a waterfall effect shower head (very refreshing), and despite being quite compact, still had enough shelf space for all my toiletries, so it was fine. Staff were really friendly, and the location was great, you could see the Battle of Bannockburn monument from my window.
The one thing I didn't like is the walls are extremely thin, so I could hear the conversations of other guests quite clearly. If you're a very light sleeper (like me) that might be a problem, as it did keep waking me up, but it's otherwise a quiet area, especially if you're on the side of the hotel facing the monument.
Our stay at King Robert Hotel was fantastic! The hotel itself is older, which is reflected in the building's appearance and some of the decor, but it's a really great value for the price and - despite its age - was very clean. The staff were all very lovely. The real hidden gem was the food. Our dinner tasted like home cooking and was one of the best meals of our 10-day Scotland road trip! The breakfast was also tasty with plenty of options for everyone. We had a view of the garden, which was beautiful, and the brief appearance of a couple of bunnies was a real treat.
As with many older buildings, the walls were thin so the rooms themselves aren't sound proof. A pair of earplugs was all that was needed for a great night's sleep, but worth noting.
Staff friendly and helpful
Room was quite tired looking and shower lacked power
The room was comfortable and clean.
The wifi provided was completely open and unprotected, a scammer instantly tried to start my paypal app. Only use it with an active VPN.
Amazing staff, we felt really welcome in the hotel
