The spa was excellent, we had the jacuzzi and massage experience. What a great view from the tub, overlooking the valley, galls of wine in hand.
We had the most amazing massages from Gloriana and Deymi.

On our annual trip to Costa Rica we always spend a few nights at Xandari. Located conveniently 20-30 minutes outside San Jose and on a hillside overlooking the city and valley this is the perfect place to start (or end) your CR visit. The grounds and rooms are artistically majestic. There are paths to see waterfalls, several pools, and views everywhere. There is a wonderful restaurant. And a great spa with Manager Lucy, and therapists Lisbeth and Gloriana who provided exceptional service. You can't go wrong with a stay here.
Surrounded by nature but convenient for the airport. The service left nothing to be desired. Friendly, competent and professional staff - from the dining area, cleaning staff, front desk and spa. The food was freshly prepared and the complimentary breakfast generous and varied

We stayed for just one night after landing late at the nearby international airport. This was part of our itinerary and was meant as a rest before moving on to other, more well known areas of Costa Rica. We really wish we had stayed for at least two nights. The hotel is lovely, food very good and the rooms comfortable. More importantly the staff were very helpful when the car hire company dropped off our rental car and we needed assistance with the formalities. The pools and grounds were lovely, we would have liked more time to explore all the hotel has to offer.
We had the best massages with Gloriana and Yoselin! We highly recommend booking a couples massage with the hot tub around sunset. It was beautiful and very relaxing.
Stayed here for a couple of nights during our trip to Costa Rica. This is a lovely hotel with fabulous views of the city of San Jose. It has extensive grounds to explore with several waterfalls though there are a lot of steps to negotiate together to some of them. The room was very comfortable with a good balcony. It also has an excellent spa with massage treatments. All the staff were extremely helpful and both breakfast and dinner excellent. Definitely recommend is staying near San Jose.
I had a wonderful time at the beautiful resort exploring the waterfalls, and experiencing all of the natural wildlife. I ended with a wonderful massage and facial with Lisbeth. She did a fantastic job and I highly recommend her services :)
This was an absolutely beautiful day. The views were amazing, the service from Irene fantastic. Irene definitely knows technique and her hands are like butter. Everyone should go. I did the 4 hour package included with lunch which was chef's kiss.
We enjoyed are stay at the resort. The setting was beautiful and the staff was fantastic. We also enjoyed dinner and breakfast at the restaurant which had great views. But the highlight was the massages we got at the spa by Gloriana and Elizabeth. They were great and we left very relaxed. Highly recommend this resort which is a hidden gem and Gloriana and Elizabeth if you want a massage!!
Stunning setting. Views are just amazing from restaurant. Staff very helpful. Food pretty good. Huge rooms. Lovely high ceilings. Outside shower. Golf buggy system to get around. Healthy vibe. Grows lots of stuff in-house; eggs, vegetables etc. Great retreat. Enormous grounds with beautiful layout, waterfalls, nature trails, farms etc
Lack of charging points. No TV in room. Wi-fi only adequate. Lots of ' stuff ' usually included were 'extra'. Isolated, but some like it. Dont make the most of advertising the facilities. Lots of hilly walks and steep incline's. But can call for a buggy rescue. Could do with a technological upgrade at least. Come for TWO days at least. Four idealy
The spa is in the grounds of the fabulous Xandari Resort and Spa in Costa Rica. I had a deep tissue massage with Deymi - and it really was deep. She worked particularly deep on my shoulders and back of my legs, which really needed it.
I would definitely recommend Deymi and this spa.

It was a short stay of 2 nights and we really would have liked longer. Food, rooms, views gardens and trails were all excellent. An original and beautiful hotel.

Xandari resort and spa is located in the hills above San Jose. It has spacious grounds containing waterfalls and a farm producing a lot of the produce used at the restaurant. The rooms are quirky and well equipped.
We spent the morning at the spa. We had a private jacuzzi with amazing views. This was followed by a deep tissue and reflexology treatment with Elizabeth. She was extremely competent and left me feeling completely relaxed 😎 but spaced out.
Overall highly recommend the hotel for its excellent staff, food and proximity to the airport whilst avoiding the San Jose traffic jams.

Conveniently located for the airport, very secure and safe, good restaurant (book early to avoid disappointment!), spacious room. Beautiful views over San Jose and fantastic gardens.
Although the room was large it felt quite sparse with only harsh white lighting. The hotel is clear that it only has wifi in the main lobby area, but for the price charged, it is not unreasonable to expect that it should by now have invested in the technology to provide wifi in all the rooms (especially as the phone signal was non-existent too!). Very noisy night with low flying aircraft, motorcycles, cows and dogs. Whilst the food was good, there did not seem to be sufficient space to accommodate all the residents at a time of their choosing which is a real shortcoming given the lack of other dining options in the area.
Perfect getaway. Hot stone massage from Jocelyn was amazing! All staff is very friendly. The trails are a delightful experience. The food is presented elegantly and is very tasty. The amenities are great with very few people.
I spent a few hours at the spa with Gloriana (therapist). It was the most tranquil 3 hours. Gloriana was amazing, I would highly recommend her. Her hands were lovely and warm and the massage left me feeling so relaxed I just wanted to sleep and I felt completely de-stressed. She’s the best therapist ever. Thanks Gloriana for a lovely treatment!!!!
