My husband booked the 4-hour couples experience, which was absolutely wonderful. It included one hour in a private jacuzzi with breathtaking mountain views, followed by a two-hour massage and a delicious lunch. Everything was fantastic.
At the spa reception, Lucy was amazing—so flexible, welcoming, and enthusiastic!
I also had a lymphatic massage and a facial. My therapist, Jocelyn, was incredible. I highly recommend her—her soothing voice, attentiveness, and care truly made it a five-star experience.

At the end of a trip to Costa Rica with a few friends, we stayed to Xandari Resort & Spa. We stayed in the Star Villa which was peaceful with a stunning view. The bedrooms were large and the beds were extremely comfortable. The bathrooms were spacious and luxurious. It was really nice to have a large common space in the living room, dining room & kitchen. The kitchen could have used some towels or hot pads, but we ended up at the amazing restaurant for all our meals so it was sort of a moot point. The restaurant had fantastic food, a *wonderful* view, and Oscar and the other staff made us feel special. Lucy in the spa went above and beyond to make our stay wonderfully memorable and Yoselin, Lisbeth, Marcela & Irene were skilled and professional. The grounds at Xandari are safe and stunning and it was wonderful to see the twinkling stars on our way back to room from dinner. Take the time to hike on the property to see the waterfalls but make sure to wear sturdy shoes. Make time to to visit Xandari while in Costa Rica!

I stayed here solo 2 nights before my flight home! Loved the views and the sunset pool was perfect! I hiked to the waterfalls which was steep and the west trail the following day. Loved my deep tissue massage. Food and service was really good but the last night they didn’t check on me then I ordered something that took 25 minutes. Glad I had an early reservation. Tuna tartare was excellent. Driver picked me up on time and I had more than enough time at airport! Highly recommend Xandari !

What a lovely and different hotel. The rooms and grounds were amazing, staff incredibly kind & helpful and the food excellent. I have to call put Irene at the spa for a fabulous lymphatic drainage massage. Really set me up for my journey home.

I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights and I was a bit disappointed. I’m going to start with the people at the front desk that’s run by young people who seemed to be disorganized. Secondly, the villa I was put in was beside someone who has dogs barking all night! The manager told me it’s coming from the neighbors next to the resort who owns a bunch of dogs and a cow. I find it hard to believe that it’s the neighbors dogs barking when the sound coming through the walls where I stayed in. 🙃 Last but not least there’s no TV. Trash cans doesn’t have bags and the bathroom is not cleaned well.

Really enjoyed our stay . Beautiful, quirky, interesting architecturally and great artwork.
Jocelyn and Elizabeth were both great at the Spa, the treatment rooms were lovely , amazing views.
The chef is really good the food beat our expectations by far.
The receptionist was friendly and efficient and the use of WhatsApp to book the spa and restaurant was handy.
The grounds are beautifully kept a credit to the team.

Excellent from every member of staff. Helpful and friendly with a special thank you to Karla for her extra special care, friendly manner and help. I always admire how some people can interact with people they've never met before, probably won't meet again and still provide service and information with a freshness that makes one feel one is the most important person ever!
Accommodation:
We had a Prima Plus Villa. It was very large, had its own little garden and a lovely balcony with great views and every amenity one could wish for including a huge bathroom and loads of storage. The slight downside was that it is amongst a small group of villas down hill from the main building (restaurant, reception) but reception send a golf buggy down to collect people if one doesn't want to walk up the hill.
Location:
Perhaps Xandari's Achilles heal. It is quite a way from both the airport and San Jose and the significant traffic means journeys to/from the hotel took us quite a long time. For that reason, we only ate in the hotel. Additionally, there is some irregular noise from planes and this can occur in the early hours. It's a shame but we didn't find it so intrusive as to disrupt our stay.
Food:
Although Xandari is in large grounds, it is a relatively small hotel in terms of accommodations. As might expect that plays into a somewhat limited breakfast buffet but hot dishes to order were available. We ate dinner twice and on both occasions the food was excellent.
We stayed 3 nights. On our 2 full days we had 'half day' tours . That did not give us enough time to explore all the hotel grounds so we didn't get time to visit the waterfalls or use the spa, which looked amazing.

Die Prima Villa mit Bergblick war sehr geräumig. Das Abendessen im Restaurant war hervorragend, die Aussicht auf die Stadt schön und das Personal sehr freundlich. Wir mussten früh morgens zum Flughafen und erhielten eine Frühstücks-Box mit auf den Weg.

Lisbeth was an awesome massage therapist! I feel so relaxed after a terrific vacation in a beautiful country!

The spa was excellent, we had the jacuzzi and massage experience. What a great view from the tub, overlooking the valley, galls of wine in hand.
We had the most amazing massages from Gloriana and Deymi.
We left so relaxed.

On our annual trip to Costa Rica we always spend a few nights at Xandari. Located conveniently 20-30 minutes outside San Jose and on a hillside overlooking the city and valley this is the perfect place to start (or end) your CR visit. The grounds and rooms are artistically majestic. There are paths to see waterfalls, several pools, and views everywhere. There is a wonderful restaurant. And a great spa with Manager Lucy, and therapists Lisbeth and Gloriana who provided exceptional service. You can't go wrong with a stay here.

Surrounded by nature but convenient for the airport. The service left nothing to be desired. Friendly, competent and professional staff - from the dining area, cleaning staff, front desk and spa. The food was freshly prepared and the complimentary breakfast generous and varied
I would/will return on my next trip.

We stayed for just one night after landing late at the nearby international airport. This was part of our itinerary and was meant as a rest before moving on to other, more well known areas of Costa Rica. We really wish we had stayed for at least two nights. The hotel is lovely, food very good and the rooms comfortable. More importantly the staff were very helpful when the car hire company dropped off our rental car and we needed assistance with the formalities. The pools and grounds were lovely, we would have liked more time to explore all the hotel has to offer.

We had the best massages with Gloriana and Yoselin! We highly recommend booking a couples massage with the hot tub around sunset. It was beautiful and very relaxing.

Stayed here for a couple of nights during our trip to Costa Rica. This is a lovely hotel with fabulous views of the city of San Jose. It has extensive grounds to explore with several waterfalls though there are a lot of steps to negotiate together to some of them. The room was very comfortable with a good balcony. It also has an excellent spa with massage treatments. All the staff were extremely helpful and both breakfast and dinner excellent. Definitely recommend is staying near San Jose.

I had a wonderful time at the beautiful resort exploring the waterfalls, and experiencing all of the natural wildlife. I ended with a wonderful massage and facial with Lisbeth. She did a fantastic job and I highly recommend her services :)
