Hotel Fort Canning

We loved our room! It was spacious and had a beautiful view of the park. Because it was about to undergo renovations, the hotel was not crowded. Although we noticed a few areas that needed a little attention, it didn't detract from our enjoyment of the property. I hope the renovations do not destroy the ambience of the property.

Very nice and quiet location with a lot of landscaping areas in the middle of the city, what a beautiful oasis for visitors.

The hotel is closing for a six month remodel. I can't wait to stay here again once it reopens.

Wonderful large rooms, nicely appointed. Access is 'interesting'. The hotel is located on a significant hill. Walking distance to the metro is perhaps 15 min. But virtually every route involves steps, a lot of steps. There are some ramps, but some extremely steep. If you have any mobility issues, care will need to be taken. There are some escalators (outdoors) but several were not working or shut down at night. A stay here involves strenuous calf exercises 😳

Excellent spacious rooms and the hotel is located in the peaceful Fort Canning Park. Close to MRT station with easy access to main sites in the city.

Staff are excellent. Service is excellent. Beautiful grounds and park surrounding hotel. An oasis to escape to from busyness of Singapore which is just a short walk away.

Based in fort canning park it is a very old building in a beautiful location.
Some areas of the building are in need of attention to bring them up to a standard worthy of this beautiful place.
A shortage of breakfast tea, and minimal amount of outside tables at breakfast could be improved.
The bedrooms are quirky (I like quirky) a fabulous bath tub in the room but the toilet and shower with the sliding frosted door your only privacy also in the room, erm you need to be very close to whoever you’re sharing with.
The swimming pools are fabulous a leisure one and a swimming one 25/30m perfect.
The staff were fabulous really friendly and helpful .
It just needs a bit of updating and modernising but retaining is heritage.
I would stay there again.

It was an old building but renovated well and very comfortable. overall a great stay.

The breakfast was not as good as we remembered.

A lovely place

Beautiful hotel in a great location between Orchard Road and the colonial district, both accessible on foot. Room was beautifully designed, especially the bathroom, however the lighting in the room wasn't great. Superb pool complex with cocktails on demand, which was marvellous! The biggest issue was accessibility. No thought has been put into accessibility for people that struggle with stairs, whether disabled or, as in my case, arriving on foot in luggage in 33ºC heat with 80% humidity. I have to say, this aspect of it was really poor and would put me off returning.

Nice setting in park

Property is located in the beautiful Fort Canning Park. Rooms are large, comfortable and bathrooms are modern and spacious. It is a short walk to Clarke Quay which offers a variety of riverside dining options.

What a beautiful room overlooking the park. Would stay here again in a heartbeat in the same room.

Fabulous and priced right. Helpful staff.

I would have normally rated this hotel 5 stars but the problem is that it was bought by a middle eastern company in December, all the staff have had no choice to leave before renovations start in March 2025. As a result, less staff and lots of minor things that are not addressed or missing. It is a shame because it is a wonderful hotel, very quiet, only 10 minutes walk from 2 MRT stations. I just hope that the new owner will keep the original feelign and atmosphere of the hotel which might not be the case (seems like the new owner wants to turn the pool into a public pool).

Great location in Fort Canning Park
Room was quite spacious and well appointed
Staff were very attentive and friendly - service was exceptional
20 minute walk to Orchard St for shopping and Clarke Quay for restaurants and bars
15 minute walk to various MRT stations
The two pools were great - the only thing missing was a pool bar.
The only downside is that some parts of the hotel could do with a little attention but this is only a minore point.

Unique Historical Hotel in the middle of park-like area.

Fantastic overall experience in term of property - building and surroundings (middle of a park), room, concierge service, etc - restaurant food good, copious and varied - service very slow and could be more attentive - overall very pleasant experience and would definitely return - apparently property is changing owners currently and future experience may be different from ours
