We had a very pleasant stay at the Golden City Hotel Istanbul. The staff were extremely friendly, helpful and welcoming throughout our stay.
The location is very convenient for exploring Istanbul, and the hotel was clean and well maintained. The Wi-Fi worked very well during our stay.
One of the highlights was definitely the breakfast on the rooftop. The view over the Bosphorus and the city is absolutely stunning and makes breakfast a special experience.
The only negative point was the soundproofing, which could be improved, as we could hear some noise from outside and from neighbouring rooms.
Overall, we had a very positive experience and would be happy to recommend this hotel.

Although elevators are small - as I read in previous comments before choosing the hotel - but we didn't face any delays for using the elevators during our 10 nights even in the peak hours during the breakfast.

We paid a little extra for a Panoramic View and it did not disappoint. It was great at night to open all the curtains and just watch the whole of Istanbul go by, absolutely stunning. The room was spacious, very clean and our room was cleaned and serviced efficiently every day. Staff were all super friendly. The breakfast on the top floor every morning was great with a huge range, lots of staff working and very attentive.
On arrival the area doesn't look the best, but it is perfectly positioned for walking and for accessing the metro. You can pretty much walk everywhere, which given the traffic is a great thing. The location right next to the river means there is great access to some lovely restaurants, some cheap and cheerful, some more expensive.
El hotel tiene unas vistas espectaculares, un desayuno muy rico y está muy cerca de todo. Accesible andando y en metro o tranvía desde las paradas cercanas.
Nos tocó una habitación enana con un aire acondicionado que hacía muchísimo ruido. Nos cambiaron a otra que hacía menos ruido pero aún así era un poco molesto. La habitación estaba bien pero las almohadas podrían ser más cómodas. En general limpio pero la persona de la limpieza se dejó el producto en el baño dos días
The location was perfect. You can easily access public transport right outside the hotel, while the Karaoke and Haliç Metro stations are just a 10-minute walk away. A beautiful Bosphorus walking area is also only two minutes away. Galata tower 15 min walk.
It is an ideal hotel for families. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, and the housekeeping team did their best to keep the room clean and comfortable.
One of the highlights is the dining room, which offers a beautiful 360-degree view of the Bosphorus and Istanbul city. You simply can’t get bored sitting there and enjoying your breakfast while taking in the views. The breakfast itself was also excellent, with a good variety of options.
The rooms are a little small, although I didn’t realise at the time of booking that the hotel has two separate buildings. The Deluxe and Executive rooms are located in the other, newer building and offer better views.
Overall, Golden City Hotel is definitely worth staying at. I would happily stay here again, especially because of its excellent location, comfort and friendly service. I would have no second thoughts about booking it again.

Lage ist sehr gut. Frühstück war okay.
Ich hatte das Deluxe Zimmer gebucht. Man hatte versucht, mir das normale Zimmer zu geben und mir das als Upgrade zu verkaufen (Upgrade war Blick auf die Stadt, was aber nur auf die Häuser auf der anderen Straßenseite war). Habe dann aber das Deluxe Zimmer bekommen. Das ist in einem separaten Nebengebäude, dass gerade nicht offen war (glaube weil der Aufzug kaputt war). War dann alleine in dem Nebengebäude. Obwohl das ganze Gebäude frei war, hatte man mir kein Zimmer mit Doppelbett (sondern zwei Einzelbetten) und ohne jegliche Aussicht gegeben. Ich glaube man hoffte, dass ich dann doch das "alte" Zimmer nehme. Das hatte ein Doppelbett. Mir war aber das neue Zimmer und vor allem das schönere Bad wichtiger. Kam mir da etwas verarscht vor
Uitzicht
Hotel je vo výbornej lokalite. Izba sa každý deň upratovala, každý deň nám nechali na izbe fľaše vody. Kanvica, čaj, káva aj chladnička sú k dispozícii. Výhľad z izby aj z hotelovej reštaurácie je prekrásny! Raňajky sú až do 11tej a poskytujú obrovský výber.
