Beautifully presented rooms in this elegant historic building. With excellent faculties including access to a well cared-for garden and lots of thoughtful touches like beach towels, fresh ground coffee, a fridge for milk, a stash of board games in the hallway and so on, this is a beautiful place to stay. It's stretching the definition of hotel in that there's no bar, restaurant or (when we stayed) any breakfast facilities, though the rest of the town caters for your needs more than adequately. Hosts were friendly and accommodating, the bay boardwalk is just opposite and there's car parking.
Booking.com led us to believe there were breakfast options and we'd have liked there to be a blind on the skylight.
No breakfast provided
Would have liked more interaction with hosts
The place was immaculately presented, walking distance to pub, restaurants and shops. Excellent hosts.
Absolutely nothing
Jennifer and Justin were so welcoming and helpful, as well as the property being immaculate
Nothing really, though i was a wee bit cold on my first night.
Location was near to everything in Mangonui, 4 mins to beach and 5 min walk to shops. Hosts were very welcoming and helpful, a lovely couple.
Lovely quaint historical place to stay. Rooms are a good size and on a cold night - lovely and warm. Best bed I have slept in - so comfortable. Wonderful outlook and short walk to cafe and restaurants. Bonus having "real" milk in the fridge too.
Lovely property with great views

Spacious rooms. Delightful hosts.
We felt it was a little expensive compared to similar establishments we stayed at on our Northland travels.
A beautiful lovingly restored boutique hotel right on the water. A gorgeous large room full of personal touches with everything you could possibly want or need. 100% recommend.
The history of the building, beautifully renovated, well equipped with attention to detail.
We liked everything.
Great location, welcomed at the door, room spotless and comfortable.
I received an upgrade from a single room to a much larger room which was really well equipped. Lovely bathroom products and plenty of towels.
