M Hotel - Different Hotels

Disappointed by the fact that there was no heating in the rooms.
There was a very small electric heater but that did not help.
Breakfast was again very good.
Overall there has to be a renovation of the hotel, especially the rooms.
They are getting 'worn' out. 😌

We called the hotel when driving to Genk, and asked for availability of a room. No problem at all, said the receptionist.

Upon arrival at the hotel, we were initially assigned room 210. Upon entering, it became immediately clear that the room had not yet been cleaned, which we reported to reception.

We were subsequently reassigned to room 410. Upon arrival, the room was extremely cold. There was no central heating; heating was only possible via a portable electric heater, which is entirely inappropriate for a hotel in this price range. We left the heaters on while going to a restaurant nearby, which is actually not really recommended for safety reasons, but we didn't saw another option.

In addition, it took an exceptionally long time before hot water was available to take a shower.

During the night, our hotel room was opened and entered without any prior notice or consent by a staff member (night watchman). They entered the room with the question: "What are you doing in this room"...Really??? Apparently, the receptionist made a mistake, and didn't register that we where sleeping in room 410, but that doesn't give those people any right AT ALL to enter our room. At that moment, we were in a situation where our personal privacy was maximally violated. There was no emergency whatsoever that could justify this action. This is a direct violation of our rights, and didn't make us feel safe anymore later on.

The room was also very noisy, so the television of our neighbor was easily overheard.

Taken together, this constitutes a serious and unacceptable experience, which caused us a strong feeling of insecurity. This is even an illegal action, a hotel room is a safe space, that can not be entered without approval of the person renting it. What makes this even more disappointing is that, following our complaint, the hotel refused to offer compensation and clearly underestimated the severity of the incident. They offered a voucher, which we didn't accept, the only correct action would have been a crediting of our room. Emma, Arno, please take a course on Customer Service...

Overall, the hotel is outdated and does not meet the standard one would reasonably expect for the price charged.

Let it be clear: do not book this hotel, you will regret it.

Good location, close to the city centre.
Friendly and helpful staff. Our room was not clean enough (black hairs in bathroom and toilet, room very dusty and window too dirty, etc.). Breakfast was good, but the breakfast room was partially closed off with a rope because dinner had already been set. Therefore, we couldn't sit by the window, and the room was far too crowded. So the hotel was ok, but not good enough for a second stay.

Stayed for two nights with a friend.
Superb location.
Cleanliness is average.
If the hotel was a car, it was due for a service. It seems pretty worn over all.
Staff was very friendly.
Breakfast needs a tune up to be at an acceptable level.

Loved the view of the lake and its footpath around it.

The foyer and lifts were not too clean

Uitermate vriendelijk en gastvrij ontvangen. Nette en ruime kamer die helaas moeilijk te koelen viel en bij openzetten van raam veel geluid vanaf terras. Toegangsdeuren naar kamers sluiten met veel kabaal. Twee liften, waarvan één buiten werking en de overblijvende lift relatief klein en erg traag. Leuk restaurant, prima kaart en uitstekend eten en service. Wel lang wachten bij drukte.

Our first stay here was “ok”, our second was not good at all.

This weekend we stayed again and found:
The room was dirty, the elevator broken, the only duvet in our room as too small for our bed and was dirty. The fan in our room was an industrial model and so loud we could not use it. No one answered the phone at the front desk and the breakfast was sub-par.

A nightmare we had to pay for.

We will not be back.

No room cleaning and towel change done, people missing at the reception, overall did not see the value for money paid for the hotel.

We booked a junior suite and it was very dirty upon checkin. Stains on walls, dirt on floors.
Condition was also appalling and there was no hot water on second morning.
No cleaning or tidying up was done during our stay.
Restaurant downstairs has very poor service level with grumpy staff.

Heel mooi hotel op wandel afstand van shopping center

Eerste indruk in de lift was: verouderd en niet echt proper. Kamer gaf als eerst een positieve indruk qua grootte maar er was enkel een verplaatsbare airco die geen koelte gas. Resultaat was…een slechte nacht. Badkamer was prima en leuk dat het toilet apart is.

Good hotel, absent reception. I did not manage to phone them and I tried many times. Left messages to call back but no reply.

Geen airco in de kamer en daardoor erg benauwd ook toen t buiten afkoelde geen verbetering, kreeg wel een kleine ventilator

Looks fancy from the outside but the rooms look quite worn down and are a bit dirty
Housekeeping didn’t clean the room although I hung the “sign” on my door in the morning
Also no aircondition so the rooms were super hot when outside temperature was 25 degrees
Also super expensive parking your car on their parking lot

Everything is perfect except of the bed, they put two single together to make it double but really uncomfortable.

During my stay at the hotel, I discovered mold in my bathroom. When I went downstairs to check out, another guest was complaining about issues with her room. The staff responded to her concerns in a very dismissive manner, which made me hesitant to insist on my own complaint. I reported the mold issue nonetheless, and they simply wrote it down without much acknowledgment.

Séjour agréable, l'hôtel est très bien situé à côté d'un centre commercial, proche du centre-ville et d'un joli parc avec des canards, oies... Hôtel agréable.
