Ambience
Rooms are not so big. Not value for money. There are N number of much better choices in this rates.
L’accueil du personnel, la piscine et le style de l’hôtel
Venkovní bazén byl super.
Everything
The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotels tuk tuk driver (Ali) was very friendly and helpful as was the young man who checked us in.
The pool needs some care and attention and so could the terrace. The breakfast was fine but a greater selection of fruit would have been better.
It is clear that the hotel was once beautiful and could be again with a little tlc.
Nothing
Not a single thing in this hotel that you like. I see rats playground in the kitchen. Food is unhygienic
We were in two adjacent rooms, which were adequate for the purpose. Hotel has a decent swimming pool, which was a key selling point given the hot weather. Hotel is relatively close to AGRA CANTT (AGC) train station. Breakfast buffet was good, but overpriced (we felt).
It’s history and its upkeep
Nothing
The rooms were very good.
Comfortable hotel, nice classic building, spacious room, clean, good bed and shower. Nice swimming pool
Unfortunately a 20% tax was charged on top of the final Booking.com amount, reception staff told me that was policy, but was nowhere mentioned on booking.com confirmation. Also taxi service is overcharged, a small car for 1100 idr one way to Taj Mahal for sunrise (I end up booking an Uber taxi for just 150 idr, same time).
To conclude: very nice hotel but reception staff should not be so greedy
Room was good the was rooms are named will give u a prince kind of feeling
Our experience during the stay was extremely disappointing and far below expectations.
Room service was unacceptably slow, and housekeeping response times were equally poor. Despite staying in one of your highest-priced rooms, the level of service we received was no better than that of an ordinary room.
The most upsetting part of the experience was the complete lack of coordination between the front office and the restaurant staff regarding our breakfast inclusion. Our booking clearly included breakfast, yet we were stopped at the restaurant by a lady and a staff member and told that our breakfast was “not paid.”
This situation was embarrassing and highly unprofessional. If there was any confusion internally, it should have been resolved by your staff before approaching guests. It is not acceptable to stop guests in front of others because of your team’s lack of communication. Even if breakfast had genuinely not been included, we were fully capable of paying for it — but the manner in which this was handled showed a complete lack of courtesy and hospitality.
For a property charging premium prices, we expected professionalism, coordination, and respectful treatment of guests. Unfortunately, our experience reflected poor management and inadequate service standards.
