The building at Mandir Palace is beautiful and relatively clean, with a lot of character. One staff member who looked after us during breakfast, lunch, and dinner was exceptional and made us feel genuinely welcomed—he really stood out and enhanced our stay.
The overall experience fell short in several areas. The WiFi connection was poor, the pool was not clean, and service in general was lacking. In the reception/communal area, the lights were not turned on, leaving us sitting in the dark for about an hour while waiting for our train, which was quite disappointing.
Additionally, the repeated calls and messages after we left asking us to leave a review left a negative final impression. The reception staff could benefit from better training to ensure guests feel more welcomed and attended to.
Location, Hotel ambiance
Breakfast , room TV connection and range of channels very limited .
Ancien palais de Maharadja, l’hôtel est situé au pied de la vieille ville de Jaisalmer
staff was not at all trained to deal with guests. They did not tell us about the museum and food tables at dinner were dirty
Everything around is completely mesmerizing and surreal experience of living in a palace
We wish we stayed for two more days :)
The palace and location are wonderful, the dinner is amazing
The pool needs to be cleaned a bit more and maybe having fresh juices near the pool would be great
We truly enjoyed our short stay at Mandir Palace. Parbat Singh welcomed us in a polite and warm manner, and he was respectful throughout. The room was clean, spacious, and well furnished, including boutique quality toiletries. The restaurant food and refreshments were fresh, and the staff smart and informative. The hotel is also a former palace that has been turned into a museum which is easy and fun to visit and get a glimpse into the royal family lifestyle in the past.
Beautiful place, clean and high courtesy
There were many stairs and the shower flow was very weak
Our stay at Mandir Palace with my family was truly unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, we were immersed in the grandeur and magnificence of this beautiful heritage palace, which made us feel nothing less than royalty. The architecture, history, and regal ambiance are simply breathtaking.
The hospitality was exceptional. The entire staff was extremely warm, cooperative, and highly professional. A special thanks to Mr. Parbat Singh, whose dedication and personal care made our stay even more comfortable and memorable.
One of the most cherished moments of our visit was the honor of meeting members of the royal family — Maharaj Jitendra Singh Ji and Rajkumar Sivendra Singh Ji, the esteemed owners of the property. They were incredibly polite, courteous, and gracious, which added a truly special touch to our experience.
Mandir Palace is not just a place to stay; it is a royal journey into history, culture, and timeless elegance. We will always treasure these memories and would highly recommend this palace to anyone seeking a genuine royal heritage experience.
Loved staying in an authentic old palace. Beautiful architecture, comfortable, safe, friendly staff. It oozes charm, like stepping back in time. Cold in Jan, but the pool looks beautiful in warmer months. Nice location, out of the hustle of the fort but close enough to walk and enjoy the sights along the way. The staff were very helpful in helping me find a tuk tuk at 11pm to head to the train station.
Nothing really. I'm sure some people might want more breakfast options like they find at a Marriot buffet but I found them fine...maybe a bit simple but fine with me. Good coffee, sample of Indian dishes, a few cereals and juices, fruit and toast. They're happy to make eggs however you like. The bathrooms are older, not modern and flashy with marble everywhere but that was also fine with me. They were clean, good hot water.
An historic hotel which is more like a palace. The rooms are elegant and the rooftop terrace is lovely, particularly for dinner.
The price is relatively high, but worth it for the luxury surroundings.
Ambiance
Na
Practically there is nothing except that it looks good in a picture's background.
The hotel is misrepresented on booking.com site. The photos look good but the real experience is completely opposite.
The breakfast: it is served in their 'restaurant'. There are 8-9 low value things that are offered as buffet. You have to ask for toasts, which takes time. No boiled eggs, no butter or jam.
The room: Imagine a palace room built ages ago that have been minimally modernized. I had golden suites, which they have 5 or 6 and each look different. The images on the site are from two rooms.
Facilities: The intercom didn't work for three days. The WiFi was terrible. The hot/cold shower adjustment took real skillset and god forbid if someone used the toilet or sink at the same time. My friends in their exclusive suites had to take cold showers for two days. The pool's water looked a bit fuzzy but it's winter. The mattresses were uncomfortable. The food is mediocre and overpriced.
What a great experience - staying at this property for some time!!! Great hospitality, great food, awesome facilities. A+ all the way around - right from check in to checkout. We stayed at the heritage rooms which was equivalent to staying in old royal haveli s. Remarkable experience.
Palace is beautiful and staff is helpful
