The Duxford is a great hotel to break up the journey from London Stansted to home if your more than a few hours away. Check in was easy and the room was already set up for three adults.
Breakfast was very nice, simple but with plenty of choice.
Absolutely atrocious service that seems to involve simply ignoring customers. Who you can contact from Holiday Inn Express to complain is a closely guarded secret and any attempt to contact the hotel directly with a complaint is totally ignored. Their approach is take your money and run. I will never stay at another Holiday Inn Express in my life.
Firstly in terms of location it’s perfect for visiting Duxford, nice welcome when I checked in to the hotel, room was fine, bed and pillows unfortunately were rock solid, in terms of noise you either get the train track or the road, I am aware that they are refurbishing the hotel but I would recommend bringing ear plugs as the windows don’t drown the noise out, my friends had a road view and that’s all they heard, breakfast was fine, the only discouragement for me was the tomato’s and hash browns being left without a lid with flys buzzing about. If you are staying for the night it’s fine enough to sleep in.
Staff are attentive and do a good job of listening to their customers. Excellent transportation with the neighboring station for Cambridge, London and Stansted airport. Trains do create some noise but not an issue unless the windows are open. Food and drink options at the hotel are good, and the next door pub has additional choices.
Staff were very friendly and helpful, room was updated and clean, and breakfast was great. The room was nice and cool which was perfect for sleeping.
Yes everything in this hotel was fantastic staff fantastic
Nice bathroom with a big shower.
My son and I stayed here as we have before. It is no longer a Holiday Inn - now The Duxford Hotel. Parking is £10pn. For some reason I was given a disabled room on the 3rd Floor above the railway line. The door lock didn’t work and I couldn’t use the heating as it sounded like a tractor! I asked to move rooms but the hotel was full. With the window closed the railway noise wasn’t a problem. Apparently they’re about to refurb the 3rd floor, so that should be better. Breakfast was ok.
Room was clean and well laid out, but beds were not that comfortable.
Breakfast offered a good selection. Looks like some sort of work is being carried out in/around the hotel at the moment, so a good portion of the carpark is being used for the portacabins and work area.
There is a railway station under my window. 1am and I'm still awake due to the train noise. They seem to be about every 30 mins so far. Each time I nod off, another train.
Convenient for Babraham research campus
Courteous and excellent staff
The hotel could do with a refurbishment of the corridors and communal areas. The carpets are dated, worn, and not that clean. The parking is limited. Good commuter hotel. Soundproofing works from the outside but not as good from room to room.
A convenient location, just off the motorway. Friendly staff, clean room and tasty breakfast.
Very close to IWM Duxford.
All good 👍
Very straightforward hotel. Happy and helpful staff. Brilliant breakfast. Probably beats Premier Inn on all counts except for firm mattress
Nice big room, very good breakfast, could not be closer to London - Cambridge train stop.
Over priced motel, thin cheap mattress and pillows
Staff were pleseant but that's the only positive from me. I was put in an disabled access room which was not requested. The shower flooded the whole bathroom floor, saturating some clothing in water. There was such little water pressure in the sink it was almost inpossible to brush my teeth and to top it off, there was numerous marksnon the bed sheets. Hugely unimpressed with this hotel and very dissapointed.
Great hotel, staff were excellent and the breakfast was fantastic.
