Pros:

Die Lage des Hotels ist gut, um Stone Town zu erkunden, man ist innerhalb weniger Minuten in der Altstadt und am Hafen. Die Einrichtung hat uns auch gefallen, weicht zwar von den Fotos bei Booking ab, aber insgesamt war’s schön eingerichtet.

Cons:

Es war UNFASSBAR laut. Dass wir aufgrund der Lage die Geräusche der Stadt mitbekommen werden, war uns klar, dafür kann auch das Hotel nichts. Aber die Geräusche innerhalb des Hauses waren so laut, dass wir keine Nacht durchschlafen konnten, ständig wurde man von lautem Knallen, scheppern, Türen Knallen etc. wach. Das Personal war einfach nur unfreundlich. Am ersten Abend wollten wir im Restaurant essen, mit uns war eine größere Gruppe dort, alle Tische standen auf der Dachterrasse, ein einziger für uns stand im Innenraum, bzw. IM Eingang des Restaurants, totale Bahnhofs Atmosphäre. Dann hatten wir die „Auswahl“ aus genau einem Gericht: Hähnchen mit Pommes. Beim Einchecken wurde uns gesagt, die Kaffee- und Teebar in den Zimmern sei inklusive. Allerdings ist das scheinbar auch nur am ersten Tag so, denn aufgefüllt wurde weder das Wasser, noch Kaffee oder Tee. Außerdem gab es keine Steckdose in der Nähe des Wasserkochers.
Auch die weitere Ausstattung im Zimmer war unbrauchbar. Das Moskitonetz hatte Löcher und schloss an keiner Seite des Bettes und der Föhn im Bad war angeschraubt, hatte aber keine Steckdose. Die einzige Steckdose im Bad war für Rasierer, auch der Reiseadapter passte hier nicht rein.

Wir hatten einen sehr frühen Ausflug am 2. Tag, an der Rezeption wurde dann nur die Hand aufgehalten und „Key!“ gesagt, kein guten Morgen oder tschüss.
Beim Frühstück, was man aus der Karte auswählt, hatte ich ein French Toast bestellt. Ich hatte eins mit Zimt und Zucker erwartet. Bekommen habe ich 3 halbe Scheiben Toast, die in Butter und Ei gebraten waren. Als ich gesagt habe, dass ich Zimt und Zucker erwartet habe, wurde nur gesagt „bei uns im Hotel ist ein French Toast ein Toast mit Ei und Butter“. Daraufhin bekam ich einen neuen Teller, mit dem selben Toast, kein Angebot, dass ausnahmsweise mit Zimt und Zucker zu machen. Also keine Motivation, dem Gast ein bisschen entgegenzukommen. Die beiden Tische neben uns haben sich ebenfalls über das Frühstück beschwert.

Pros:

Great location. Room was spacious and clean. Shower was really good. Breakfast was good, I really enjoyed the fresh pancakes and fruit. Staff were so helpful and friendly. We enjoyed our stay!

Cons:

The noise from the street is very loud. Lack of sound proofing between rooms was frustrating especially late at night.

The hotel is in a beautiful old building, the roof top terrace has a gorgeous sea-view. My room was big and spacious.

Cons:

My room had a balcony and view on the road, hence was a bit noisy. The bathroom shower and toilet are not very comfortable. The hairdryer is not working. The safe is not working. Hotel is not reachable by car, therefore (if you have a lot of luggage) not comfortable as you have to walk via



some roads before you reach it. Breakfast service is a bit tricky. Maybe as it was low season, nothing was prepared in the morning and I had to wait quite a bit.

Pros:

Fantastic breakfast served in the most beautiful roof top restaurant looking over the old town and ocean and boats. Huge rooms. Comfy bed. Great massage in the wee spa. Lovely reception and staff. We booked in again after our safari it was so good. Nice pool for a dip after being out in town. Cold beer on the roof at sunset.
