Hotel is l next to the river Kwai Bridge. We were fortunate and had the entire resort to ourselves wonderful place to stay.
2nd time staying here. It’s a really large hotel. The hotel is located next to the river Kwai bridge. The rooms are clean and large. The breakfast had mainly Thai option with a few western items. The swimming pool was amazing. Note there is a lot of stairs in the hotel which I didn’t mind.
Had a lovely few days here, the staff were wonderful.
There were very few guests while I was there, and for me that was heavenly.
The actual bridge over the river Kwai is directly accessible from the hotel, a short walk from the security hut. Really unique !
There's also a 7 eleven just outside the facility, so that's very good too.
What an amazing relaxing place wow just what was needed. A lovely welcome from the hotel reception , all the hotel team were so friendly and professional. Our room was spotless and all the grounds are very well looked after . Beautiful views of the river kwai , and only a 5 minute walk to the bridge and little town . Wish we could have stayed longer but we will be back next time we visit. Thankyou it’s been a pleasure
walk in distance to river kwai bridge and station, nice and friendly staffs, nice location.
All of the interior spaces, including my room, are/were immaculate, exactly what you should expect from an establishment calling itself a ‘Resort’.
The exterior is showing a little age/wear from the brutal Thai weather.
I didn’t eat at the resort so I can not comment on the food or food service.
It’s a beautiful location on a bend in the river just across the historically famous River Kwai bridge. The bridge is approximately a 10 minute walk.
Goof location next to the river kwai. Well kept property with clean rooms. No elevator to the upper (third) floors. Hot water is only luke warm. Definitely not warm enough for using the bath tub as some other reviewers also noted. Breakfast is ok with many varieties but food was not kept warm. Restaurant staff showed limited interest in serving customers even when there were fewer than 10 people during breakfast time.
Flies are a real problem here. I guess maybe just time of the year as I don’t see other comments but just intolerable. In hotel areas. Room is fine with doors shut and air con on.
Unfortunately, also hotel is deserted which means no atmosphere. They must be 100 rooms and it is deserted which is a great shame because the hotel and the staff are lovely
Great location. Property on older side and probably due for a Reno to take it to the next level but I stayed for ease of location - close to the action but away from the hustle and bustle. Pleasant staff. Will happily choose here for my next visit.
Well situated and beautiful garden. But amenities not funtioning properly. Breakfast and coffee: very under par. No warm water. Needs some modernization of room.
I booked here because the pictures show the bamboo restaurant on the river with perfect view of the bridge.. the restaurant has been closed since Covid I am now told..
About a 2km walk from reception to the bridge - this has to be done in daylight. The start of the bridge only has narrow plate to talk and no lights, a long way to fall. Which also means you need to get a taxi back from town which is easier said than done. Because your on the other side of the bridge about 15 min by road no one wanted to know, easier money to be made from the bars pickups.
Room was really nice, 3rd floor stairs were a little tedious once you were in and out a few times, but the service was spot on with the kart to pick you up and service for your luggage so getting around the resort was easy.
I would stay here again, IF I had a car or bike
Breakfast was great, will even do demonstrations for eggs or Thai coffee making.
What fantastic hotel resort right on the river side and close to the famous rail bridge, lovely and peaceful and with a view of the river (10 metres away).
Good for the price and quiet location - easy walk to bridge. Property is looking tired but clean and pool area is lovely. Very poor service in restaurant first night - waited over an hour for ANY service - not even a drink. Seem to have plenty of staff everywhere but the restaurant.
I’m disabled and walk with crutches.
For such a big hotel not having elevators, or rooms close to the main building is a pity. Also the bathroom had only a bath which is not so easy. A lot of steps, stairs, bridges to take when you walk around.
Lovely pools but not enough lounge seats..
You can’t change money in the hotel, so you have to go to the centre. Staff speaks poorly English..
I like the place but need to provide more hygienic equipment.
Very frendly helpful service on check in. The rooms are large and spacious but only 2 coat hangers in the wardrobe is not good.
The grounds around the hotel are most impressive and well maintained.
Access to the swimming pool for people with any slight disability is an impossibility as there are no steps for children or the elderly.
Its the same inside the hotel with no lifts or elevator to safely access the upper and lower floors.
The Breakfast provided is good and provides a good start to the day but why do you place the cutlery in single use plastic bags? This is 2025, please stop this practice of single use plastics.
Overall the hotel is in a great location but has seen better days and is in need of a little TLC
nice place
Extremely dated hotel but we were already aware of that when we booked, and at that price point I guess we shouldn't be complaining about that too much. Room smelled "old" as soon as we got in, and we promptly found hair (not ours) both around the bathtub and inside the fridge... Aircon in the room, although functioning (unlike the experience of some other guests), is super noisy. Not enough pressure in the shower, and the quality of the towels was poor.
Location of the hotel also isn't ideal as it's on the "wrong" side of the river if you're after restaurants (the only place around is the new and excellent KAAN hotel/restaurant, but even that isn't within walking distance), cafes (we literally couldn't find any coffee shop near the hotel, and were told to take a taxi just to grab a coffee), night market, or any sort of night life. It is however close to the Kwae bridge.
Service level leaves a lot to be desired - guys at Concierge do not speak English, neither do many of the other staff, including the reception staff.
The pool was the only thing that we enjoyed - unfortunately that was also infested with ants. No service by the pool unless you ring up reception, and they ran out of pool towels by 10am.
There are much better options at a similar price point - we only booked Felix because our original choice would not let us opt out of a paid breakfast.
My wife and I stayed two nights at Felix River Khwae Resort Kanchanaburi on Thursday and Friday. The staff were friendly and helpful. Parking is plenty.
We stayed in the riverside room. The river views were wonderful. Breakfast was good. The swimming pools were nice. We hired a long-tail boat. The boat driver pick up us at the resort pier.
The resort is big. The sunset views by the river were amazing.
Next to the famous river
