I booked this hotel and paid for a rate that included parking and breakfast. Unfortunately, the parking garage could not accommodate my vehicle due to its height, so I had to pay for alternative parking. We asked if it would be possible to switch to the basic room rate and receive a partial refund for the unused parking and breakfast, but the hotel refused to provide any compensation.
The breakfast was also disappointing. There was not enough food for the number of guests, and several items had run out.
I was really impressed by how luxurious the room was for the price! I loved the walk-in closet space and little seat to take your shoes off, as well as the complementary iron and board for sorting my wrinkled suitcase clothes out. The bed was massive and comfortable, with the double block-out curtains helping to cut out a lot of noise and light for a good sleep. The ensuite was spacious and I appreciated the shower taps being located away and not right under the shower head. I wish all showers were like that as it just makes sense. I loved how the shampoo, conditioner, face & body wash, and the body lotion were complementary, in ample quantity, vegan, cruelty-free, and mostly natural. I also liked how large the floor space was so I could do a whole yoga routine easily without having to shuffle furniture around. Although it’s not right in the Melbourne CBD, to tram straight to Flinder’s street is just a 5 minute walk around the corner, and the area felt safe walking back at night. Finally, the staff at reception were professional, helpful, and friendly.
I had a quick glance at the on-site restaurant menu and unfortunately there doesn’t seem to be anything for vegans there at all, so I had no reason to eat there despite it looking like a nice place to dine in 😕 The only other thing would be that the windows in the room couldn’t be opened up for air-flow, so it got a bit stuffy trying to sleep at night.
we where upgraded to delux room which was fantastic
Location and good value for money
I loved the location and the rooms
Nothing!
The location and parking
I was quite disappointed with my stay. The staff and overall service were not up to the standard I expected. On several days, my room was not properly cleaned—they only emptied the rubbish bin and left without making the bed or cleaning the room. This is something I have never experienced at other hotels.
The food was also very average and did not meet my expectations. Overall, the lack of attention to housekeeping and the average breakfast experience made this stay disappointing. I hope the management takes this feedback seriously and improves both the service and housekeeping standards.
