We went to Brixen specifically to stay at this hotel, and to dine in its Michelin starred restaurant. While we were not overall disappointed, we would have expected a little bit better. This historic establishment has a marvelous location and the building itself is quite like a museum when it comes to history, arts and furnishing. We stayed in the main building, in standard rooms. The rooms are clean, but really basic. The bathrooms were very small and showed some wear and tear. Very few amenities (no shampoo, nor conditioner, just shower gel and body lotion). The Spa is well advertised on their website and I was expecting something a bit better. The sauna was small, with little information about the "dress code" (some people were nude, others weren't), the wet sauna was turned off. I was told there is water available, and I am sure there is, but I couldn't find it. Most spas also offer herbal teas, which was not the case here. The pool area with loungers is nice. The pool is lightly heated.
I disliked the fitness room. It is extremely small. I gather it might have been a cellar as the ceilings are very low and vaulted - which doesn't make it for it being airy enough to feel confortable. There is only a tredmill, a bike, a bench and a few dumbells. Regardless: you wouldn't want to exercise heavily in that space. No water in the fitness room - no towels either.
The best part of the experience is the breakfast buffet and the overall service. Breakfst offers a bounty of options - both sweet and savory- of outstanding quality.
Service is impeccable.
I think you pay for the history, the location and the (past) reputation of the establishment. I have been in 4 stars (this is a 4 stars + according to their ad) that provided a more comfortable stay, better facilities for a lower price. I understand that might not be the case in Brixen, but some standards should be quite universal.
That being said, I don't regret going there.

Extremely unfriendly reception - older lady really poor customer service. The basin water outlet (plug hole) in the bathroom was broken so 2 people came to look finally two hours later a plumber. In the meantime asked us if we’d like another room it would be €15 (and smaller room) . Small room, air conditioning unable to switch off or manage temperature as lowest setting was 23 deg on a very hot day! No extras such as a safe, small bar fridge, kettle or cupboard. The room smelled as if carpet still had stale smoke smell, although non smoking room. No mention of South Tyrol Guest Pass on check in. Breakfast mediocre. I would not recommend.

The hotel is in the center of the town. The room was clean, cleaned every day. Only the beds had a bit soft mattresses. The breakfasts were good, there was enough of everything, only the breakfast coffee not much for Italy. The staff was always very helpful.

Innanzitutto, dicono che hanno una colonnina elettrica per auto , ma ti mandano in una li vicino piubblica. Sul sito dicono che tassa di soggiorno 2 euro a persona ma ne hanno chiesto 3,50

Perfect stay in a small village in the mountains with a great and warm welcome from the staff.
Room was huge and clean. Bathroom with a lot of towels.
May the small bags for shower bath were not practicals.
Breakfast is in line with the level of the hotel. May be some local cakes whould be a nice to have

The best about this hotel is that is located in the heart of Ora (Auer) and the bus stop is nearby. Otherwise not many good news: outdated furniture, very, very outdated bathrooms (the tiniest ever), mediocre breakfast and even more mediocre service. Beware of the senior owner as she is ill-tempered, other staff is not particularly friendly either. The maids however are very friendly and thorough. Also note that one cannot check-in before 15:00 hrs under any circumstances, and they make you wait until the clock chimes.

In generale l’esperienza è stata positiva, la colazione ottima e abbondante. Particolarmente da me apprezzati i graziosi balconcini esterni. Purtroppo mi è dispiaciuto che i riscaldamenti fossero spenti (era 1 novembre e fuori c’erano 5 gradi) e che abbiano trattenuto i documenti di identità fino alla nostra ripartenza. Accettabile la distanza dal parcheggio pubblico sotterraneo.

Kwaliteit bedden. Makkelijk online boeken. Hotel lag gunstig op onze route. Minder: identiteitsbewijzen moesten we inleveren, die kregen we na 1 uur terug.

Tutto bene, propietari a dispisizione x qualsiasi richiesta senza spese supplementari. Uno splendido bagno con cambio giornaliero degli asciugamani. Colazione a buffet abbondante

Sleeping on the way is sufficient. A voucher on public parking.

Spaciously equipped room,the shared terrace with neighbors over the flower pot. The staff doing just what they have to do, and not too willing.

Room with no A/C - we hardly slept because it was too hot (there was a fan in the room, but...), had to open windows facing the main road (noise), shower head was broken (couldn't fix while showering), breakfast was ok...but not a good stay...we were actually there basically to get a good sleep...didn't succeed

Eine durchweg gute Adresse. Gutes Essen und sehr guter Service. Und eine charmante Seniorchefin. Für den Preis verzichte ich auf etwas Komfort. Z.B. Klimaanlage an heißen Tagen oder guter Badezimmerspiegel mit Beleuchtung.

Es ist doch arg renovierungsbedürftig und für einen längeren Aufenthalt nicht geeignet. Es liegt auch an einer recht stark befahrenen Strasse. Sehr gut war die Begrüssung und das Hotelrestaurant. Leider war das Personal beim Frühstück überfordert und kam nicht hinterher.
