Sankara Nairobi has a way of making me want to return again and again—it truly feels like a home away from home. From the moment you arrive, the warmth and professionalism of the staff stand out, making every stay memorable. The facilities are exceptional, blending comfort, luxury, and attention to detail seamlessly. The addition of the new Italian restaurant has elevated the experience even further, bringing a fresh and exciting dining option that makes every visit feel special. Sankara continues to set the standard for hospitality in Nairobi, and I always look forward to my next stay.
Sankara is well situated in a nice area of Westlands, northern central Nairobi. The hotel is new and will maintained. The staff is attentive and friendly. Philip at the front desk in particular is exemplary. Breakfast service is comprehensive with traditional Continental options as well as local flavors.
The fitness room is small but well equipped with techno gym machines. George is kind, polite, and hospitable. I feel he could be a good gym buddy.
As an icing on the cake, after every daily turnover the cleaning staff leaves a small gift everyday on your pillow. The gifts signify major large animals of Kenya. Very nice touch indeed.
With all of that said, there are a few things that you might want to bear in mind. If you have a room facing the front of the hotel there can be a party that run until 5:00 a.m. in the morning. The entrance to the hotel is at first confusing. And this is definitely one of the more expensive hotel in the city. So if you are budget constrained then this may not be an option.
It is a good hotel with excellent manager, personnel, quality of room and bed and quite good breakfast - it’s also not overbearing like some luxury hotels are… basically these are things that matter. I did not give 5 stars because it sometimes hosts events in parking lot that are loud (good option if room faces opposite direction) and create mess for transportation access.

I frequent the Sankara frequently. The location is convenient, the services are excellent and the restaurants located in the hotel are amazing. You won't be disappointed!
The Sankara in Nairobi is an incredible hotel. I would definitely stay here again. The staff are very friendly and professional and the room is very nice. Nick, in housekeeping was very kind and routinely checked in to make sure the room met my needs. The staff even leave cute animal trinkets in the room each day for guests - very special touch. I would visit again.
It was a great stay! I enjoyed every bit of my time at Sankara! From the warm and friendly welcome by Joseph at the front desk to the great experience at the gym, sauna, and steam room with outstanding service from George. The food was wonderful, especially the happy hour at the lounge, with a big shout-out to Shantel for her amazing service at the lounge. Of course, the bar and live band made it more awesome.
I visited Sankara Hotel and had a great experience. The location was very convenient for what I wanted to do, with easy access to nearby places. Although I didn’t use the rooms, the food was excellent, the service was great, and the staff were friendly. The overall atmosphere was welcoming and enjoyable, and I would definitely recommend it.
