This is the place to stay in Nairobi. When you travel a lot there is as normal room to improve, and the team here is keen to take this to a higher level.

Sankara Nairobi remains one of my preferred places to stay. I have been a regular guest, including for extended stays last year and this year, and the service, comfort, and overall experience have consistently been excellent. The staff have, as always, been brilliant
On this visit, however, I experienced serious internet problems during peak hours. Streaming was almost impossible due to constant buffering. It took 10 days for the issue to be resolved, which was frustrating—especially as I had never experienced Wi‑Fi problems during my previous long stays.
I was also disappointed that the steam room and sauna were switched off when not in use. This often meant waiting an hour or more for them to be ready, making it difficult to use the facilities conveniently.
Overall, I still have a very positive view of Sankara and would happily return, but I hope the reliability of the internet and availability of the wellness facilities can be improved.

Sankara never fails to impress. Excellent location and outstanding service. Winfrey (Duty Manager) and Rohan (Bar Manager) deserve special mention. If you’re a negroni fan then Rohan’s spicy negroni is incredible!
