Casa del Rio Melaka

Had an absolutely wonderful stay at Casa del Rio! The location is literally a stone's throw from Jonker Street but tucked away enough to feel like a peaceful sanctuary.

Service: The warm welcome with the lime sorbet and cold towel was a lifesaver in the Melaka heat. Every staff member was incredibly attentive.

The Room: Spacious and clean, with a private balcony. I love the bathtub. The rubber duck is such a thoughtful touch!

Breakfast: Good spread. I had the Eggs Benedict, and I love the orange sorbet.

Definitely my go-to hotel in Melaka from now on. Highly recommended for anyone wanting a mix of heritage and luxury.

Our fourth stay at Casa del Rio Melaka and once again, it exceeded every expectation. This place truly feels like our home away from home.
From the moment we arrived, the experience was nothing short of exceptional. The personalized cabana check-in immediately set the tone for a memorable stay. Being welcomed with chilled towels and refreshing lime ginger sorbet was such a classy and thoughtful touch, especially after a long drive. We were even greeted with our names beautifully displayed on mango leaves a unique and charming detail that made us feel incredibly special and valued. A heartfelt thank you to Ms. Nana and her team for the warm hospitality.
The room was incredibly spacious, beautifully maintained, and spotlessly clean. The stunning view added to the overall charm of the stay. Every detail in the room reflects comfort, elegance, and quality perfect for a relaxing family getaway.
And breakfast at River Grill? Simply outstanding. It’s something my family and I genuinely look forward to every visit. The buffet spread offers an impressive variety, and the included à la carte selections truly elevate the entire dining experience. The food quality, presentation, and flavors are consistently top-notch. Well done to Hafiz, Chef Yus, and the entire team for delivering such excellence.

I had an excellent stay at this beautiful hotel. The charm of its architecture and design creates a fully immersive experience. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and the view of the river is a real bonus. The staff are attentive and make sure everything goes smoothly. The infinity pool above the river is magical, and the breakfast is varied and focused on local products. Thank you for this wonderful stay!

Lovely hotel centrally located and walking distance to all major attractions in this city. We were welcomed by very warm and friendly staff and each of us were given a short neck/shoulder massage in the lobby when checking in. It was a beautiful start to our stay and greatly appreciated after the bus ride from Singapore.

Our room was spacious with a large bathroom with double sinks and a walk-in closet beside it. There was a nice array of amenities provided in the bathroom. We had a room that faced the river. I think the best part of our day was coming back to the room after the turndown service because they light a votive in an aroma diffuser that smells absolutely heavenly. It’s a wonderful mix of lemongrass, ginger and other fragrances. I tried to buy it before we left but they had sold out and were waiting for a shipment. So sad as I would have loved to take that home with me.

There was breakfast buffet was quite extensive serving Chinese, Malay and western choices.

There was a wonderful spa on the third level and I had the traditional Malay massage which was truly amazing.

It was an excellent 2 nights stay in Dec 2025 and while the hotel is starting to show its age, it’s very well kept.

It has a big compound so guests won’t feel crowded and it gives off a chill vibe. The car park while wasn’t big, appeared to have sufficient lots for room guests.

The breakfast was great and offers a variety of food. Not too hotels within or near Jonker walk has a swimming pool but Casa does, offering guests a respite from the hot Melaka weather.

The location is just next to Jonker walk and make for an easy walk to the shops and night market.

location of the hotel seems the most convenient for walks to Jonker Street for food and shopping. At weekend nights, the place becomes vibrant with the night markets just round the corner.

Great location for exploring Malaka on foot, we didn't need to use our car the entire stay. We elected not have breakfast at the hotel because there are so many option nearby we wanted to expeince. We enjoyed the river view and the balcony.

The Casa Del Rio more than lived up to our expectations. It's a beautiful building that felt very old but was built in 2012. Our room was very spacious with a huge bathroom, dressing area and a lovely balcony. The bed was huge with crisp white sheets and the floor was highly polished wood as were all the fittings which gave the room a classy colonial feel.
The staff were super friendly and helpful and the food, both breakfast and a la carte in the evening was delicious.
The rooftop pool was large, cool, clean with comfortable sunbeds and plenty of towels.
Melaka is a fun town to mooch round in the evening. Live music aplenty and a pedestrianised area behind the hotel with a buzzing night market.
It was our first stop on a tour of Malaysia and gave us a great first impression of the country

Great location, within walking distance from most attractions. Room was spacious and cozy. The hotel is airy with the spanish design and is a plus point to me. The restaurant served excellent breakfast spread but there are so many eating places around that you're spoilt for choice.

I really enjoyed my trip in Melaka and this is primarily because of Casa Del Rio's intentional hospitality and its strategic location conveniently located to all the popular spots I needed to visit.

From the get go, their teams always greeted us with a warm smile, they were extremely helpful in providing directions and were trained to provide their hotel guests with a luxury Zen experience in the background, allowing us to really let loose and not be self conscious of our surroundings.

I stayed in the Deluxe Room facing the river. The view was picturesque, the bedroom was spaciously designed, the toilet had a separate bath tub with a rubber duck and rainshower area. Everything was intentionally crafted with sustainability in mind. I particularly like sitting at the balcony area with my partner to vicariously participate in the many activities happening across the harbour. Its not noisy, its just the right level where it became our white noise and the sliding doors had solid insulation.

Top spots we visited like Peranakan Mansion restaurant, Famosa Chicken Rice Ball, Bibik Chendol and The Daily Fix Cafe at the Jonker Street area were all 5-6 minutes walking distance. If you drive here, you can park your car in the free of charge parking basement. They also took time to provide free windscreen wiping which was such a pleasant surprise.

​We enjoyed our 4 nights in room 107 (Studio River King​, King bed + sofa bed).

​The hotel has a great location​ and we enjoyed sitting out on our room's balcony with the fan going, enjoying the view along and across the river.

​Our room was of a good size and comfortable. The bathroom had 2 doors, one to the long room hallway and the other to the dressing area just inside the room's entry. The shower had ample hot water. The bed was comfortable. There was a small ​complimentary mini bar​ and a nespresso machine. We appreciated a fan in the room and used that a lot, as well as the a/c.

​O​ne night (maybe part of the turndown service, we weren't sure why it was only 1 night?) the hotel lit an oil burner in the room and the candle on the balcony which made for a relaxing atmosphere.

Breakfast ​was really enjoyable out on ​the hotel's terrace, ​with great mix of options including quite a few local items that changed daily and good service.

​The hotel surrounds are very pretty. The view from the rooftop pool terrace was fab, we could see out to the Straits of Malacca.

​Our stay was over Christmas and the hotel had a few Christmas dining options organised, had decorated the lobby and delivered a small Christmas treat to the room on Christmas eve which was all very nice.

After dinner on Christmas Day we went back to the hotel for a lovely lychee martini by the river in their cafe bar.

​The hotel organised a good dependable transfer from our KL hotel to Malacca and then back to KL airport.
We also booked an evening river cruise via the hotel, which was nice because we were collected from the hotel's own pier.

​The location is great. It is an easy ​(hot and sweaty) walk to ​t​he old historic centre to a multitude of cafes, restaurants, shops to try Peranakan food and visit the Jonker St night market etc. Being just out of the old historical centre meant it was easy to come and go by car (we used Grab a little to get to some sites out of the centre).

​T​he amount of people (including buskers) out by the river meant it could be a little noisy late at night but with the doors shut the noise was manageable.

Everyone at the hotel was very friendly and helpful.

We really enjoyed our stay here and would recommend this to friends for a great base from which to explore Malacca.
