A fabulous pub to stay in. Great location and really spacious and clean room with everything you need provided. The staff were excellent and also has a lovely bar and restaurant area to eat with excellent food. I would highly recommend this lovely pub. ☺️
There was nothing I didn't like
A generously sized, clean and comfortable room in the courtyard of the pub. Good dinner in the pub. They don't do breakfast but there were a couple of cafe options in the high street. Just right for an overnight stay while walking the Thames Path.
The room was very nice. And great noise blocking windows!!!
The entrance to our rooms was round the back of the pub and exactly as you’d imagine the back of a pub. Unavoidable due to layout but as a guest just not very nice to pass through to get to the room
The area leading to the room could do with a tidy up. The walkway could do with the weeds and equipment being removed. It could be made more welcoming with a few flowers in plant pots lining the way. The room is a nice size and clean but the bed is too small. A king would sit nicely here. The price was £125 without breakfast which is a bit steep. A couple of croissants, condiments and cereal plus milk would have been a great addition.
There was a football event which went on until midnight. There was no mention of this when we booked, it was pointed out on arrival. The party was in the pub and gardens and the noise was horrific. Request on entry to room to remove muddy boots. Why not supply some hotel slippers.
The staff were amazing kind and helpful and the pub was lovely. Everything was clean.
The room smelt strongly of damp and all the fabric on room curtains cushions and sheets were clammy. The damp was so bad we had to leave as it was affecting my asthma. My partner was also finding it uncomfortable to. The property did try to find us alternative accommodation but couldn’t. We were reimbursed £70 out of £105 pound stay. I feel we should have got a full refund as room not fit for purpose. But it was a kind gesture. Ended up in holiday inn express Swindon which was surprisingly good!
Excellent staff. Friendly atmosphere.
It was difficult to find somewhere convenient to park.
Spacious and well equipped. We had a dog friendly room on the ground floor which suited us perfectly
A bit messy in the outside area near our room
No breakfast available at the pub but options are available within a 2 min walk
Great selection of beer. Ideal location for walking the Thames
For prices a bit high. Rooms need a bit of an update.
Friendly staff and good food in restaurant (thank fully this is a separate room to the main pub area which had been incredibly noisy with live music playing to the point that you could not even hear yourself speak).
This is an extremely busy and loud pub with the bedrooms facing into the beer garden which had loud music and customers until the pub closing time, after which there was continued disturbance from the staff clearing away. There was no noise insulation for the rooms and given how busy the pub was I would query why they bother selling accommodation. If these issues has been noted in other reviews of the property I would have certainly booked somewhere else.
Great location , lovely big room plus big bonus very dog friendly .
Nothing all good
Good property in a quiet area. Spacious room with an exceptional bed (large and very restful).
Absolute silence at night, excellent.
No breakfast service.
Other reviews mention the outdoor tables with televisions. They're part of the pub's folklore and didn't bother us.
Great location for Thames Path, spacious room, had a bath which was nice. Lovely staff and great food.
Didn’t do breakfast but recommended cafe close by
The restaurant is exceptionally good.
