Clearly a top quality property and staff. Our room was very comfortable and enjoyed a large (enormous) bathroom with Italian shower. Food was delicious, nicely prepared and beautifully served. Grounds are superb and the new Spa Potager will be a tremendous addition to La Ferme. We especially appreciate the warm welcome we and our "petite chien" received.
We had a great experience this time, with attentive staff and a notable improvement in our breakfast preparation and execution.
Lovely building and nicely appointed. We arrived in a 41 year old Rolls Royce which developed a hydraulic leak. The man who greeted us could not have been more helpful. He found a local garage, rang them, got hold of the right fluid which we picked up the following morning. Both kind and very helpful. Equally his colleague, the male receptionist, was also extremely helpful.
We stayed in Chambre 55 where we enjoyed the views, a lovely bath and a steam shower.
Please pass my personal thanks to both the receptionist and concierge for help with the car.
Would return again if the opportunity arose.
We weren’t booked to stay in this hotel but in their sister hotel which decided close for the weekend we were visiting. Our reservation was changed to this hotel and we were so glad that it was!
What a beautiful hotel , it was so full of character especially the wonderful bar with its open fire. The bedrooms were just as charming but with all the modern amenities you could wish for, our room even had a steam room in the shower !
The staff were incredibly welcoming particularly to our dog, there was a bed in the room for him as well as treats and a toy. He was allowed everywhere in the hotel even the fine dining restaurant which was incredible!
Everything about our stay was perfect and we would definitely return to this wonderful hotel and bring our dog as it is so rare to such a lovely hotel to welcome dogs the way they did!
Highly recommended!!!
From arrival to checking out, the team were warm and friendly, nothing was too much trouble.
The hotel is in a great location, only a 15 minutes stroll into the town.
It’s a place we will be revisiting and the hotel will be our number one choice.
Great stay, beautiful rooms and Normandy character. Lovely staff and attention to detail. Loved the real log fires. Breakfast was great quality too. Hope to stay again soon!
The hotel’s staff take a very personal interest in their guests. They are not only friendly, but also very professional and knowledgeable/helpful.
The hotel’s gastronomic restaurant is worthy of a Michelin star. It is also one of the most charming dining rooms in France. The restaurant staff know their food and wine and are very helpful in making choices.
The breakfast is worthy of three stars!
We absolutely enjoyed our stay at the Ferme Saint-Siméon. The room was very comfortable. Excellent shower! Quiet and peaceful, yet within easy walkin distance from the town centre. Highly recommend.
Amazing hotel and the rib of beef was superb. Highly recommended. Rooms were fantastic and had a brilliant nights sleep.
Beautiful location & well appointed rooms. The staff & service were excellent--helpful & very courteous. Wonderful Bistro restaurant for dinner. Would have loved to spend a 2nd night at this lovely accommodation.
Amazing views across the estuary from lovely grounds. Great cocktails, excellent dinner and an abundant breakfast feast amongst the paintings by impressionists who stayed here. Will definitely return.
Warm, welcoming. French or English. Wonderful concierge-makes dinner and taxi reservations.( recommend before you go). Drivers excellent. Walk to town-do not miss market. Garden picnic beautiful. D-day tour superb with private driver and guide customizes tour to your family history. Weather cool on waterfront in October. AMEX not universal. Advise VISA.
Monet painted here. The light is wonderful. A very nice hotel. Great staff, professional and efficient. Nicely appointed community areas. The rooms are comfortable and have modern amenities. The restaurants are very good and provide regional foods.
We were in the smaller side building in a 1st (2nd in the U.S.) floor room. It was very well appointed and had views over the gardens from the main room and the back garden from the bathroom. The shower was incredible and there is a separate bathtub. The bed was very comfortable and the sitting area cozy. The heating worked very well. It was lovely to make an early coffee and listen to the rain falling under the eaves.
Prices for some things seem high - and they seem intent of selling you all manner of things - but lunch in La Boucane was definitely worth it. (A shout out to the maitre d' who also oversaw breakfast - he is the soul of hospitality.) Also to Celine who welcomed us so warmly and explained the Impressionist "tour" around the grounds, giving us brochures in both English and French, and greeted us every day thereafter to ask about our day.
The icing on the cake (for me) is the well explained association with Boudin and other Impressionists and the site itself. Seeing this after touring Musee d'Orsay two years ago with an art historian was just a glorious bookend.
It is also a lovely place to come back to after a day of touring the region.
We loved this great hotel in the best location in Honfleur. The hotel and staff were amazing. Laurent, the concierge was really great setting us up with a fantastic driver, Sacha Lieutard who took us on a great day trip in Pays d'Auge on the famous cider route visiting two excellent cider and calvados producers. The best of all was Dumond. We also saw quaint villages and stopped for a great sandwich on the way. Just a wonderful stay at the amazing hotel with the best staff and restaurants.
This was our third visit, our first since Covid.
We had paid for car parking so ton arrival the car was unloaded and duly parked for us.
A warm welcome at reception from Celine, a complementary glass of house champagne in the garden before we were shown to our room.
We booked a Deluxe Room in the Historical House. We were assigned room 17 on the top floor, that is 3 flights of narrow, twisting stairs into the eves of the hotel. A warning to tall people. Watch your head there are lots of sharp corners.
The room itself was well presented, nice large bed, small wardrobe, but very clean, quite spacious, well presented with views over the front and back of the hotel.
The bathroom was a dissapointment. Small, dated, with a large step into a very small shower cubical.
We were on a Getaway to Honfleur package, which included 3 nights dinner bed and breakfast in three different dining venues.
Our first evening was in La Boucane. The food was satisfactory, nothing really out of the ordinary. The service to star with was warm, friendly but as the evening went on it disappeared, like most of the staff. We ordered Expresso Martinis but they never arrived however, were charged to our bill. They were removed, we paid and left, feeling underwhelmed.
Our second evening was in Honfleur by the port at Le Vieux Honfleur. We arrived at 8pm, there was a little difference of opinion about our booking, finally we were seated. The service was very slow, this we found out was due to only two staff members being on duty for the whole restaurant. They had a rather loud table of 10 Americans who were seated behind us. Why do they feel the whole restaurant should be party to their conversations. Despite this the service was friendly and the food was exceptional.
Our third evening was back at the hotel in Les Impressionnistes. I have to say for us this was by far the best of the three, not only for the exceptional high level of service, but for the food, which was amazing. We were informed it was a new menu which we found to be both creative as well as tasty.
A special thank you must go to all the staff who looked after us, especially Ateneaus and Emma the Sommelier.
We booked the new Spa Garden. Fortunately it was a lovely sunny day so we were able to make use of all the new facilities. We especially enjoyed the outdoor Hot Tub. Toasting life with a glass of chilled Rose Champagne. The original Spa which had a pool etc., is closed, we gathered due to a fire. So evening though the hotel mentions a spa, its is really just the spa garden!
So why, after the above do I give it only an 'average' rating.
- On our first night returning to our room it had not been turned down! On all subsequent nights it was.
- On our first day after being out from 10.30 to 3.30pm all day, wanting to return, relax in our room before dinner we returned to find our room had not been cleaned. We had to call reception and then sit in our room while it was serviced!
- Breakfast service although friendly was inconsistent. One morning you would be asked if you wanted something off the menu from the kitchen the next morning no menu!
- As we were celebrating a 70th birthday I arranged a bottle of Champagne and a small birthday cake to be in our room on arrival. After 3 days, the champagne bottle was empty and the cake was going stale. No-one had had the foresight to remove the champagne, and at least put the cake in a box or something to preserve it.
- We had to go searching for someone to serve us drinks in the bar, after waiting for 10 minutes.
- The seats in the garden were soaking wet as there had been a storm the night before and no-one thought to bring them in.
- A word of caution. Don't, like me, think that the brown hessian hotel bag in your bathroom is complimentary, although it should be for the price. If you take it you will be charged 29 Euros. There are signs everywhere mentioning that if you take the Molton Brown products you will be charged, but nothing about the bag. We thought that was sneaky, and wondered how many guests have been caught out this way.
Would be return, sadly not.
I had very high hopes for this hotel. It looked beautiful on the website and aesthetically it met my expectations, the staff was friendly as well. However, we stayed in the Historical House which is the main building where you check in. I booked a Deluxe room and was given a room on the top floor,
it had no AC and looked nothing like the pictures on their website. Apparently there is a separate building with more rustic rooms that are cheaper and they have AC. We paid almost $1000 a night, it didn’t include parking or breakfast. Breakfast was 39€ pp and absolutely awful! I had to flag down the staff to replenish the buffett of eggs, sausage & potatoes, which they never did. They were out of fruit as well. This might be understandable if the restaurant was at capacity but there were literally only 5 tables sat in the entire place, it was not busy at all and they had adequate staff working so I have no idea why no one was paying attention to the empty buffet. For 39€ I had a croissant and coffee, definitely not worth 39€ . Beautiful resort but I left feeling it was very over priced for what was charged.
Beautiful property and friendly staff. However, for what we paid (almost $1,000 a night for a Deluxe Room-Historical House) room was VERY basic and no AC. The breakfast was TERRIBLE!! 39€/pp and I had to flag down the waitress to tell her the buffet was out of eggs, sausage and potatoes that was never restocked. This might be understandable if the restaurant was full but there were only 5 tables occupied and the wait staff was completely tuned out. Beautiful Hotel but I left feeling over charged for what I received as far as accommodations and food service.
A wonderful stay. Excellent, comfortable room and exceptional dinner. A nice touch was a complementary glass of champagne while waiting for our room. All staff were incredibly helpful, friendly and attentive (without being overbearing!). Our second stay and won’t be our last!
The hotel is absolutely beautiful, in fact, one of the most beautiful hotels we have experienced. The entire property is renovated and in perfect condition. The criticism is in the details. There is no pool and the beach, which could be wonderful looks on heavy industrial sites that are impossible to oversee. The spa which is also lovely, can only be used for a horrendous price. The pillows are very uncomfortable and poor quality. The water temperature varied in the shower to the point where it would burn us and then become cold. Be aware that the prices in the restaurant as well as the bar or even minibar are high. This having been said, the staff is friendly and the hotel is truly exceptional. We did fall in love with the hotel.
