Great location, fantastic staff, superb value
Nothing to note
The view, the breakfast and the bed were excellent.
No Internet so the tv channels were limited and ir was hard to.work from my room. Also a dodgy shower over a bath which was either boiling or cold.
Lovely location, convenient for the walking festival I wanted to take part in, lovely room with a brilliant view across the valley, nice size, very comfortable, clean,, lovely bathroom, the hotel itself was stylish with plenty of room for everybody, nicely furnished. It was very quiet. I liked the old trees all around. Staff were very friendly and inquired, whether everything was ok. Superb breakfast!
Big comfortable bed, clean sheets and the room had a great view, friendly staff when you could find them, my partner enjoyed the spa facilities, you could not fault the breakfast and the restaurant staff!
Nobody to be found at the bar when we wanted a drink.. Carpets were old and tatty and there was evidence of there having been a fire in our room where the carpet had been burnt... The shower tray had black mold and the seal was coming off. There was only one small body wash and one small hair conditioner and one bath towel in the room despite being booked for two people - although reception did give us extra towels straight away when we flagged this up. The instant coffee tasted very old and just terrible. The decor in the vestibule was a strange mismatch of beautiful old shields and mirrors with tasteless 'contemporary' art and hideous plastic flowers in the reception ☺️
Wonderful views . Beautiful location.Friendly staff, well appointed room. Bonus to have a lovely spa in which to relax.Very tasty food. One felt very at home here.
Liked it all
Great stay, Charlotte made us feel so welcome and we enjoyed the pool and steam room particularly. All food we had was excellent too
Room and view exceeded expectations :)
I recently stayed at this hotel and unfortunately the check-in experience wasn’t the best. The process felt disorganised, although I do appreciate that the receptionist personally showed us to our room, which was a nice touch.
Dinner service was quite disappointing. We had to wait a long time for our food, and we were required to book a table even though the restaurant didn’t appear busy at all. We also experienced some difficulty trying to arrange our breakfast time the following morning, which added to the frustration. That said, the food itself was very good and definitely made up somewhat for the slow and confusing service.
Overall, while there were a couple of staff members who provided great service, most of the team didn’t seem particularly knowledgeable about hospitality, which affected the overall experience.
On a positive note, the lady working at breakfast was extremely welcoming and friendly — unfortunately I didn’t catch her name, but she really stood out. The older gentleman at checkout was also excellent and very professional.
Staff very helpful despite severe weather related problems.
