The Station Hotel

We spent an enjoyable and comfortable nights stay at the Station Hotel. The bedroom was spacious and clean and we had a good nights sleep in the large four poster bed. In the morning we were served an excellent full English breakfast.

Hard to understand the many good reviews this has hotel. The photographs and reviews give the impression that it is old but very clean and well appointed but for the price we were very disappointed. I can see how people can describe it as comfortable but it feels old, tired and stale and would need a huge refurbishment and refresh to match the expectations set by the pictures, reviews and price. It is more of a comfortable, budget hotel.
In the end we didn't even stay after checking in, as the friends we were visiting ended up having a spare room available in their holiday rental.

The lady who greeted us was very polite and helpful.

Traditional old hotel with great space and character. Decor in need of an upgrade but has a friendly, homely feel. Perfect location for the town centre. Reception staff really friendly!

The hotel has a really welcoming and friendly feel. The staff had good local knowledge and the room was lovely, clean and comfortable. We would happily return for a further stay.

Very good small hotel, beats the 'chain' hotels hands down.

The Station Hotel was just what we were looking for on our trip to England. The hotel has beautiful decor and David is an excellent host. We were well taken care of and enjoyed our stay. The hotel is in a perfect location for exploring the charming town of Ashbourne and the surrounding area.

The Station Hotel is a lovely old hotel, with it's own parking.
It is in a good position to visit the attractions in the area or for a short stroll into town for the shops, many eateries, wine bars & pubs.
David the owner was very pleasant & helpful & the room was very nice, comfortably furnished in keeping with the building, clean & well serviced.
The breakfast selection was good & the cooked breakfast excellent.
We enjoyed our two night stay & although the hotel is on a junction & close to town, it was very peaceful & quiet & we all slept well.
If you are looking for something away from the larger chains of hotels, you will not go far wrong with The Station Hotel.

Stayed for my fiancée's birthday as we were going to Alton Towers. Prefect location and the hotel was even better than we expected. The owner was amazing and couldn't do enough for us. The local restaurant he recommended for us was amazing. Thanks for making my fiancée's birthday so special. We will defiantly be back again.

The hotel is a grand old Victorian building, nice big spacious room with the most enormous four poster bed. It was very comfortable. A lovely en suite bathroom with a large cast iron bath. The staff were really nice and the breakfast was first rate.

What a lovely hotel. Large comfy rooms. Restaurants and takeaways just past Sainsbury's.

Nice welcome. Room was not as good as lead to believe by website so a little disappointed.No bar or dining facilities except breakfast which was very good. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Excellent hotel with good facilities and friendly staff
