In an area that is off the main road, very secluded and very tranquil setting
A lovely stay in this lodge, which is in the heart of the Forest. The nature trail was great and we saw lots of wildlife in the trees and around the property - I have never seen so many hummingbirds! We enjoyed the breakfast where you can choose an option from the menu and it is freshly prepared. The staff at reception were very helpful and booked us taxis to go into Santa Elena in the evening (only about 5 - 10 min drive away) so that we could access the restaurants. The only negative I have is that the lodges are very dark and the floors are very slippery as they are polished wood. The room was very clean and well maintained.
Staff is very helpful, resourceful and friendly. Clean rooms. Located in quiet area, close to the forest. Good sustainability ratings. Happy to bring my family here. Strongly recommend!
The host was so kind! Our stay was way too short. Try to stay at least 2 nights, more would be better
The Cala Lodge is so eco conscious, views are phenomenal , nature walk, birds…wow! Staff is extremely kind and breakfast was delicious. Recommendations were appreciated. Room so cute and comfy. A small coffee maker/hot water maker in room
would be amazing but only a suggestion. Was a wonderful experience and close to cloud forest!
View and birds were astonding
Amazing place to stay in Monteverde! Very comfortable rooms and our porch had a view into a wooded spot where several different birds greeted us everyday. The walking trail on the property is a great place to see additional birds. We saw motmots, trogons, and several different kinds of hummingbirds. The breakfast is also excellent and filling to start your day. They also offer complimentary coffee in the afternoon. Emmanuel was a great host and help us change a booking for us. I highly recommend Cala Lodge!

Francisco, Karien, Ava and the res of the staff were great!!! They assisted with all our day tours and transportation. Nice having laundry service available and a great breakfast every morning. My wife & I enjoyed the location (nice & quiet) away from the noise of downtown. Would certainly go back to this facility.

Great staff. Good breakfast. Room a bit small. Needed a closet and more places to hang towels, clothes, etc. in the bathroom.
We had a small family reunion and Cala Lodge was amazing. This was our daughters’ first time in Monteverde. They were treated like family and felt the warm Pura Vida welcome at all times.
There were exotic birds everywhere. The room was quaint and comfortable, set right on the jungle. There were self-guided traiks through the jungle with information on the various flora and fauna, including the massive strangling fig trees and gorgeous Motmot birds. The food was fresh and authentic and we watched birds and monkeys come right up to the tables while we ate.
We plan to come back next year to this little haven in the jungle.
This was such a cute place to stay and one of my favorites of our 10 day trip. The breakfast is yummy and the view from the breakfast is so beautiful. While we were eating, a monkey came up to us along with some birds. You can also spend some time bird watching which was beautiful. The actual room is nice and spacious, great for a big group of people or even just for two like us. We had a kitchen and a cute balcony. The staff is very pleasant and gave great recoomendations. I would stay here again
