Perfect wedding venue
Pros:

We have recently had our wedding at Palm Court and it was amazing from start to finish. Excellent communication from Megan throughout the whole process. We had a few changes the week of the wedding and nothing was a bother.
We brought in our own table decor and it was all set up for us and packed away after we didn’t have to lift a finger.
I stayed in the hotel the night before with my bridesmaids and Jenna couldn’t have done more for us then and the morning of the wedding.
Staff on reception all weekend were also lovely and very welcoming. Couldn’t recommend more ❤️

Lovely!!!! Really great place to stay for the weekend.
Pros:

All the staff were amazing, so helpful and very friendly. They were incredibly welcoming and in every area of the hotel it was service with a smile. Breakfast was fantastic, the rooms and bathrooms were very clean and it was a lovely place to have as our bank holiday weekend base.

Cons:

We did feel that the carpets in the hallways, up the stairs and bedrooms all needed a good clean as the carpets let the rest of the hotel down but this wasn’t a cleanliness issue, the hotel is spotless, just usage and wear and tear.

Our wedding April 2026
Pros:

We recently had our wedding at this hotel, and honestly, it exceeded all of our expectations. From start to finish, everything was handled so smoothly and with such care.

A huge thank you to our wedding coordinator, Megan, who truly brought everything together perfectly. It was all the finer details she took the time to get right that meant so much to us and made the day feel incredibly special and personal.

We also can’t thank Jena enough, who looked after us from Friday through to Sunday. She went above and beyond, especially helping with the children—particularly our little boy. Her kindness and support meant the world to us, and we will always be so grateful.

Even with me (the bride!) running late to the ceremony, the team kept everything calm and stress-free. We never once felt rushed, and the whole day flowed so seamlessly.

All of the staff were incredibly helpful, polite, and accommodating throughout our stay. Nothing ever felt like too much trouble.

Our room was also beautiful—quiet, comfortable, and the perfect place to relax after such a special day.

We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone, especially for a wedding. It truly made our day unforgettable.
Thank you to all that was involved you’ve made our day memorable :)

Absolutely amazing staff
Pros:

We were in for my stepdads 70th birthday meal and my son who is autistic got very over stimulated. Well I’m stressing but this absolute angel with long blonde hair came to my rescue and I’m so thankful for her. My son stripped to his nappy but she wasn’t fazed, went and got a blanket and said that if anyone has a problem they can deal with her. Genuinely made my night. We couldn’t stay the whole meal unfortunately as he ended up sick but she is amazing. I’m so sorry I can’t remember her name.
Food was really good but it was just the staff were so perfect. Definitely recommend a visit. And the new look in the restaurant is amazing. Not much room to move around I must say BUT so good

Go here for lunch - it is worth the visit!
Pros:

Tremendous lunch at the Palm Court.
The ham was sliding off the bone onto some mushy mint peas with a perfect happy fried egg on top.
Fat fries on the side completed the dish - it looked amazing and tasted even better.
The tiramisu that followed - with its somewhat non-traditional orange jelly and lemon curd lying beneath - was not needed but very much enjoyed.

Go here for lunch - it is worth the visit!

A Comedy of Errors at Palm Court Hotel – Bring Your Own Fishcakes and Patienc
Pros:

My wife and I popped into the Palm Court Hotel in Aberdeen yesterday for what we hoped would be a pleasant late lunch/early dinner. We usually sit in the actual restaurant on midweek visits, but this time we were firmly directed to the bar. Fair enough, except neither of us drinks, so it felt a bit like being seated in the naughty corner of a Wetherspoons.
We were handed two menus… which were then placed on the bar for us like we were expected to levitate over and collect them ourselves. Minor detail.
The menu proudly advertised a “Market Menu – 2 courses for £20.” Sounds straightforward, right? We made our selections accordingly, only to be told we actually needed to order from a “separate set menu.” A different menu was duly produced. We chose from that one too, and were then informed it was out of date. They disappeared and returned with… exactly the same menu. When we politely pointed this out, they finally produced the correct version. At this point we were already exhausted and considering just ordering a bag of crisps from the bar instead.
We both went for the salmon and dill fishcakes with hollandaise as our starter. They arrived promptly, which was nice. Less nice was the realisation that we had apparently ordered premium Birds Eye fishcakes (or their sophisticated cousin). One solitary fishcake each. The hollandaise sauce deserves a medal for making them almost edible.
For mains, my wife ordered the mac and cheese. I opted for the garlic mushroom pesto gnocchi, imagining something fresh and virtuous. What arrived instead for me was a plate of what can only be described as “vomit-coloured chicken curry with surprise peas.” I gently mentioned I’d ordered the gnocchi. Ten minutes later, the correct dish appeared. The gnocchi had clearly been to the gym – deep-fried to within an inch of its life. It tasted fine, if “bland” counts as a flavour profile. Definitely not the healthy option the menu had romantically suggested.
Throughout the entire saga, there was no real apology, no discount, and no sense that anyone was particularly bothered by the comedy of errors unfolding in front of them.
All in all, it was an experience. If you fancy a game of menu roulette, some frozen fishcakes, and the occasional surprise curry, Palm Court Hotel’s bar is the place for you. Just bring your own sense of humour… and maybe your own dinner.
Would I return? Only if they start serving the hollandaise sauce as a main course with a side of better service.
Rating: 2/5 (one star for the hollandaise hero, one for the sheer entertainment value)
