Great hotel in Gion, Kyoto
Pros:

The hotel is situated in a great location with lots of restaurants and souvenir shops around. There is a Starbucks at the ground floor. The breakfast spread is the best we had in Japan. Truly a wonderful experience.

Cons:

The check-out time is 10 am instead of 11 am, which is the norm for most hotels in Japan. We overlooked this detail, and the hotel charged us 1000 yen as a fine for 1 hr overstay. This somewhat dampened the otherwise wonderful stay.
