A shadow of what it used to be
Pros:

The rooms were very clean and featured superbly comfortable beds. The hotel has a great location in the center of Gießen, with all relevant locations within a 15- to 20-minute walk. The upper floors offer a great view over Gießen and the Lahn Valley. Fast and reliable WiFi.

Cons:

The whole hotel appears dated and lacking TLC from the owners. Even the staff complain about that openly to the guests. Compared to our last stay here a few years ago, nothing was upgraded, renovated or improved. There is a single and very small elevator for the whole hotel. The rooms exude the spirit of the late 1990s and early 2000s. In our room, the bathroom lighting was partially broken. Their once revered restaurant now offers a buffet only, and their Jever Deel (bar in the style of an East Frisian pub) is quite expensive and lackluster nowadays. Check-in was cumbersome as not a single piece of information was transferred from our reservation with booking.com. The biggest disappointment, however, was the breakfast buffet. Once famous for being lavish and cosmopolitan, it now feels very much like a shadow of what it used to be. The products offered were still good and delicious, though.

Gutes Hotel in guter Lager. Sehr freundliches und hilfsbereites Personal, Note ausgezeichnet!
Pros:

Das Meiste. Fernseher einschalten war nicht möglich. Gardine war massiv zerrissen

I have stayed in many different hotels in Giessen- and I would say that it is one of the best- and the breakfast is fan
Pros:

The location is wonderful - if you get a room with a balcony, you can have a great vista of the city.

Cons:

I didn’t like that the bar wasn’t open and that we had to call the staff to open the safe for us- that was no fun wondering if we would get out valuables again. And it took her a while.

Rent og pænt, god beliggenhed i forhold til centrum, dejlig morgenmad,

Angenehmer Aufenthalt in Gießen auf der Durchreise
Pros:

Wir waren ca. 3 Stunden zu früh angekommen. Weil das Zimmer schon fertig war, durften wir es gleich beziehen. Das fanden wir sehr großzügig. Danke dafür!

Das Frühstück war reichhaltig und wunderbar.

Cons:

Der Zugang zum Pool im Wellnessbereich über eine enge Wendeltreppe ist nicht angenehm.

Parkplatz ist nicht reservierbar,

Die Betten waren sehr schmal.

Die Teilnahme am Büffet ist beim Abendessen obligatorisch. Wenn man nur wenig essen möchte, ist das zu teuer. Wir finden ein paar Kleinigkeiten hätten bestellbar sein müssen.

Pros:

Soweit alles okay. Sehr sehr gutes Frühstück. Tolle Lage mitten in der Stadt. Parkplätze sind bezahlbar mit 15 € pro Nacht.

Cons:

Relativ wenig Personal vor Ort. Nur ein Aufzug, der unfassbar lange dauert und die Kapazität in keinster Weise erfüllt. Die Zimmer nach Süden sind viel zu heiß.

Tolles Stadthotel in bester Lage.
Pros:

Tolles Frühstücksbuffet. Mit der kleinen Sauna und dem Pool konnten wir relaxt in das Wochenende starten. Es nicht das jüngste Haus, es wurde aber immer wieder renoviert, der große Parkplatz wartet mit 4 Ladepunkten auf. Für einen Aufenthalt in Gießen absolut empfehlenswert.
