Nice upgrade, there is free parking along the front of the hotel if you are lucky.
Parking non- existent requiring us to park a 15 minute walk away. We managed . Staff are brilliant. Very helpful and charming . We had an excellent seaview from our room number 211 which was a highlight and great to wake up to . Overall the stay was fine for just overnight but hotel is looking very tired and in need of some loving care. Breakfast was very good and served with a smile .
Overall the hotel was OK, but a bit dated. Our room was large but cold, beds were comfy. We had a twin room and this was situated at the rear over looking the car park. Furniture was dated but sufficient. The room had the usual complimentary tea and coffee. The worst thing was the bathroom. Cracked ceiling, a rather large dead spider on the floor, radiator caked in dust, the bath panel was cracked and warped with water, the door hinges were rusty. It just needed a complete makeover and clean.
We were lucky to park on the street, although there is parking to the rear of the hotel, it was already reserved.
Sadly there was no meals being served, but there's plenty of places to eat nearby. I wouldn't advise going out in the car as you may not be able to park when you get back.
Hotel is at the top of a hill, and in good position and walking distance for all the local amenities.
Public areas were good and clean, room was good too. Staff were friendly and helpful but maybe had too much to do
The hotel felt very run down. Stair carpets threadbare in places. It looked quite neglected from the outside.
A convenient location but parking very restricted.
Comfy bed
The room - 205 - was very good. I had given up thinking that such places were available in the UK. A great place to stay.
Nice hotel with views of the estuary. Fairly quiet given its central location. With-in walking distance of the train station. I had a comfortable and clean room. Pleasant and helpful staff. Wifi was available in the lounge but not my room. There's a decent breakfast for those who want it. Happy to stay there again.
Beach View, friendly, helpful staff. Traditional charm
The bedroom and how tidy it was and the cooked breakfast and the most of all the staff there that work they were kind and considerate and went beyond there means to support me when staying will definitely would come back again to stay there
Room was a good size, clean and presentable albiet furniture a little dated. Bathroom was very clean, goid size and good lighting. Interaction with staff was easy and very friendly.
Our stay started off with a bit of a hiccup, with our room not being ready but the staff were very accommodating and we ended up getting an upgrade with a sea view, this made our stay even better. Everyone was friendly and we enjoyed our stay very much.
We stayed here for a night on a room only basis. Check in was simple, parking wasn’t an issue but I did have to park in the long stay down near the sea front. Our room was a basic double on the 3rd floor. Turns out we had a sea view which was nice. The room was ok, bathroom very dated but functional. We would stay again.
Breakfast was good. Room a bit tired, no plug in bath, stain on chair and carpet. Staff were very good.
This was our second stay with the Royal Beacon Exmouth. We are already planning our next stay. The staff are all so lovely passionate and hardworking, you can feel the effort they put into the hotel to make your stay comfortable and welcoming. We made special requests and the hotel was more than accommodating. A special shout out to Emily and Liam we love you guys and hope to see you again soon.
Staff very friendly and helpful.
One member of staff working when I arrived, working reception and the bar!
Bar not overly well stocked.
Unable to park anywhere near the hotel had a ten min walk from where I parked.
Room on the nicer end of basic, but good value for the price.
Hotel in general is nice , great location, needs a lick of paint and some new carpets in places.
I would stay again 👍
Adequate breakfast. Comfortable bed. Good view of the coastline. Staff very over worked, some working 16 hour days, others had not taken their days off for 3 weeks. Some improvement seems to have been made cosmetically, but needs much more. Unlikely to happen as the hotel appears to be for sale.
Nice to have a lift, disliked the shower set up,not enough grab handles and a bath slip mat would have made elderly people feel safer, the shower itself was a good high pressure .that was my main criticism
The hotel only has a small amount of spaces which have to be reserved in advance. The parking in the street is very difficult
It was a one night stay. Only used the room and had one drink in the bar. Very warm weather at the time so we found the room very warm and with no air con, had to have the fan running all night. But yeah, it was an ok stay and great for taking our dogs as there is a small grassed are right outside. Great local for beach etc
