On arrival we were upgraded to the penthouse suite. In the afternoon the managed brought us two macarons and a hand written note welcoming us to the hotel. We had dinner and breakfast at Salt restaurant both of which were very good.

Lovely staff excellent service, room was clean tidy, liked the touch of complimentary macaroons, which were delicious, great location easy walk to town 5 mins, and across from waterfront
Bathroom needed a refresh basin worn so much the veneer was gone, for the price would of expected new looking facilities

Walking distance to CBD, Pukeura Park so you can just leave your car in the covered carpark.

Reception accused me of pulling out tv power cord when it was actually missing a remote - not provided.
Superior super king room with king bed - was 2 single beds pushed together and held with fitted sheet leaving a large dip in the middle and gap between mattresses. No zip nor lock system or joiners used, no thick topper to even out the gap.
Gute Lage, netter Empfang, gutes Restaurant, sehr gutes Frühstück.
The room was spacious and located within walking distance of many restaurants, cafes, shops as well as the main shopping centre and the Coastal Walkway. Staff at reception, as well as in the restaurant were AMAZING, they bent over backwards to help with any and all requests.
Could have used a couple of plates & cuttlery in the room and a microwave would have been nice, BUT as said above, staff were happy to provide these amenities at any time we needed them

Noise from traffic. Road outside is main route to the port for logging trucks which run from about 4 am all day.
The room we were in seriously needs double glazing at least to cut down the noise.
Amazing accomodation, room was exceptional, beds comfy, when we checked in we git a welcome drink...then macaroons and a welcome card were delivered to our suite. Millennium goes above and beyond.
